The Golden Fire

Prologue

Have you ever had a family day trip on a skyship?In summer you might have flown over a town called Swanage soaring high above the caravans and across the glowing arcades.When you flew,there would have been the buildings far below,fishing boats with their brightly coloured sails blowing in the wind and even the brand new fish shop being built.You probably got taken to one of the nearby shops and landed to go inside and have a look around.Travelling by skyship in the summer is normally like that.

But travelling on an expedition to unknown lands is another matter.You should try a skyship journey when the thunder is roaring around you and the sky is split apart by jagged lightning clashing with the hail bouncing off the front windshield.You should try being there when glow goblins attack,scrambling across the hull ready to dig their poisonous claw into your skin or worse-tear the skyships inflatable apart.You should try being there when the food runs out and there is not even a drop of water in the canteens.Few people would wish that on anyone.Even experienced flyers think more than once about travelling north over the distant islands.No one knows what creatures live there.Rumour has it that there are killer-bears,stone-giants and fogg dragons.Few would wish to encounter with a man-eater…and most say,that the rumours are there for many good reasons.

Chapter 1

All of the towns people gasped in shock when the  soul-crusher came around the corner with its sail set high and the engine roaring louder the ever before.Most of the crew was retrieved from out of their homes and put back together and Captain Piper.r thought if they can get the most best recruits their adventure it can’t go wrong.Everyones faces were filled with  smiles and joy.They set off!

Lev and Penny both stared down as the people of their homes started to fade and turn into tiny little dots.As the soul-crusher passed the nearby towns Penny and Lev smelt cheesy quesadillas and both ran to the skyships kitchen to see who was cooking and just then they got order for captain piper to take a seat and dig in.

After a few hours had passed,a huge gust of wind came blowing and the soul-crusher spun out of control so Penny and Lev jumped up and opened the door and were steering the sails and were in full control.Over a few minutes past the wind calmed and Penny and Lev were lying on the top deck looking and the clouds and guessing what they look like. “Do you think we will ever find her?”Penny muttered under her breath,  whilst twisting her hair around her  finger.

Lev sat up straight and gripped onto the protective bar and replied “I wonder if we will come across anything unpleasant again?” Like last time we got attacked by glowing goblins and fogg dragons. “They were not fun!”

That night,the weather changed its course.Hail rapidly came down causing a huge bang and woke up Penny and Lev.They both ran out and into the living quarters to see what caused the noise.They both looked at each other and opened the door to see in the distance a broken apart tower,glistening lights and boats bobbing up and down with the waves.
