Chapter 2.

As the next few weeks passed, the kesir’s engine barely managed to keep the ship afloat. The engine was still stuttering inadequately. It was described as a nuisance for the expedition. Heat glared down onto the airship, I guess that didn’t help much. It made the crew sweat hard and made working very slow. Underneath the dark thick layer of clouds, there was a line of individual islands.

As the ship lowered, Captain Hugehorn called out. “ Ready to land!” The crew organised the roped anchor. As they landed, the crew dug it into the earth below the lush grass. Above them, the titanium sky was overlapped by a sombre shadow. Cole looked around. Surrounding them was an empty ocean like diamonds, which shone under the intense stare of the sun.

The whole team gathered on the deck, surprised by the unplanned landing. Shara peered over the ship’s railing. She could spot: Flourishing evergreen that swayed in the afternoon breeze softly; toering palms stood high above the glistering foreshore and colourful passerines sang from their perches. But, there was something else- a small skyship, now crushed in demolition. Both Cole and Shara glanced over to Captain Hugehorn. Her face was riddled in both confusion and surprisement. Her smile was now one of uncertainty.

“We should go and investigate.” She then confidently spoke down to the kids. Shara- as well as Cole- followed Heidi down to the shattered remains. As the three walked, a tumultuous wind screamed across the bleached ether. When they had investigated around the dust-layered ship, they had collected a strange document with the initials ‘JM’ scribbled on the bottom. After this, the whole crew had separated themselves to search around the island that Julius Monatage was supposedly on. Shara was informed to investigate an ancient pathway that led away from the remnants of the crash-site. Along the way, Shara spotted cracked pillars of sandstone, which was now ruined with creeping foliage along the sides.

The drawn out passage eventually ended. Fading into a pitch black cave with eerie screeches echoing from it. Shara looked up. The sun was already set and a ghostly darkness covered the sky. She had decided against going inside.

Cole had finished his part of the investigation as shara was hiking back, But something was off. There was a terrifying feeling deep inside of his stomach. Behind him. There was a creaking, a tig snapped. Cole had thought he saw something in the shadows. An irate Silhouette. There was a strange thought in his head. A Small maggot of an idea, what could it be?
