Beneath the surface of the sea
You are fluorescent coral, glistening like lamps in a London street, creating a pulchritudinous passage.
You are the orchard of swaying seaweed deep in the murky depths.
You are the froth pulled into the bays like a white horse galloping towards the amber sunrise.
You are the shop of shells that I swim past every day.
You are the unforgotten sound of pebbles tumbling towards the sandy shores.
You are the unsighted shipwrecks with chambers of a million fortunes.
You are the shadows of a pyjama shark hunting its prey.
You are an isolated, ancient sculpture standing tall and proud deep in the sonorous silence.
You are the melodic song of the dolphins that communicate with one another, dipping in and out of the sea.
You are the glimmer of the sun on the surface of the sea like a fairy tale coming true.
You are the trail of bubbles that float up to the surface and burst with an obstreperous pop.
You are the distance between Poland and Sweden.
You are the scintillating necklace wedged between marbled stones.
You are the cormorant diving elegantly into the lustrous waters.
You are the moment between a wave collapsing and a child laughing.
You are one and only ocean.
I loved your poem and your creative adjectives and language. I don’t really have much for you to change but could you maybe make some lines like the others? Good job!
What a great poem. I really like how you mix things that are different but they sound so magical together.
