Planet Dragon
Time stops,
The dragon halts.
Captivating eyes are like pools of crystallized water.
Furfuraceous skin as rough as sandpaper, yet smooth to the touch.
Her wistful grin like an eternal wheel of happiness.
Jagged teeth twist and turn like a key unlocking a door.
Her spiked tongue arid like milk powder.
Scintillating scales are tears galloping down a child’s cheek.
Swanlike wings stretch as she readies herself for flight.
Her formidable spine like a long-billed curlew’s beak,
Her antelope horns like a misshapen smile.
Like ice axes, barbed claws grip the glaciers that are as tall as fir trees on a frosty winter’s night…
She flies away from the heavens and towards the inky fingers of darkness, where she prepares herself for the journeys ahead.
