Journey to the Hidden Mountains

Prologue

At last Fireheart was finished, Maya and Jamie stood back and admired their work. Fireheart’s crew had let them help as they were short of people and if they had done it good they might let them go with them on the journey to the Hidden Mountains…

Chapter 1

“Blimey!” said Captain Crooked Finger, “When your mother said you were good she wasn’t kidding.”

“Does that mean we can come?” Maya asked hopefully her eyes shining.

“It most certainly does,” replied first mate Jake Wardrobe.

“Yahoo!!” Cheered Jamie, “Did you hear that Maya, for the first time in ever we will be free!”

As Jamie started packing their clothes, Maya packed their backpack and wrote a list to check they had everything they needed:

  1. One bottle of never-ending liquid, which transforms in to the drink you need most, to quench your thirst.
  2. An adorable chocolate cocker spaniel, for companionship, that can attract anybody with his cuteness.
  3. A wallet of never-ending money so I could buy all the supplies I need
  4. A barrel of infinite food, with every type of food there is, so if you reach in you will pull out whatever your heart desires.
  5. A pair of binoculars that can see 9 billion miles away
  6. A fully trained flying squirrel to send messages
  7. A jewellery box with 1 million hair bands to ping at my enemies
  8. A bag of magic tarot dice to tell me what to do

“Well, I think that covers everything,” their mother said.

“We will miss you,” they said

“I’ll miss you too,” she said, “Now off you go.”

Chapter 2

Up, up and away the crew shouted as Fireheart drifted through the low hanging clouds. As the crew set up the sky-ship, first mate Jake Wardrobe showed them their bedroom.

As they explored the room they soon worked out that it had

  • Two very comfy hammocks with cotton pillows and blankets
  • A bathroom with a shower that had hot water! (this was a luxury they had never before experienced)
  • A bookshelf of books that were fiction and nonfiction
  • A teddy for each of them (Maya a wind bunny, Jamie a water bear)

“Quick!” screamed Jack Sparrow, “Get out of the ship!”

They had flown in to an electrical thunder storm.

As the ship rocked Maya and Jamie both felt sick.

The parashot’s! they thought.

“3…2…1…JUMP!”

Falling.

Falling.

Falling.

Falling.

Falling.

BUMP! Bump, bump.

“Where are we?” exclaimed Maya.

“I don’t know,” replied Jack Sparrow as they watched their beautiful red and gold hopes and dreams sink in to the waves…
