The Basilisk, Chapter 3
The Basilisk, Chapter 3
It was soon the morning and Ug had suggested they should go to Fig Field. Mary wanted to go but Bill was hesitating; eventually Mary managed to drag him there. They sat down on the soggy grass but then they realised something was crawling around them. Bill, whose hands trembled, slid away in the opposite direction to the creature but Mary rushed curiously towards it. She could just make out something that was crawling through the undergrowth.
“It looks like a baby Basilisk!” exclaimed Mary. Mary was trying to figure out why a baby basilisk was on Fig Field. It had orange eyes that were staring into Mary’s soul. She was wondering if it got separated from its mother in the storm. Bill was thinking they should leave it alone but Mary thought the opposite. “We can’t leave it alone it has lost its mother!” shouted Mary.
“Fine, we can keep it,” said Bill reluctantly.
