Chapter 3

Two days later we are in the attic eating some lemon squares from my bosses birthday. We sit, deciding to talk about the Crocamander. I have had a lot of work to do so we have not been able to go out and look. But I don’t want to go monster hunting anyways because it is starting to get freaky. It is also because it is freezing outside but we have heating in here.

“Well while you’ve been doing work at the “toy shop” I’ve been out looking for clues, which is much more fun then what you’ve been doing.” She says with mischievous grin.

I’m nervous I wonder what she has done. I think about it I say to myself that she can’t have done much. Maybe she has asked people about it! Oh no.

“What exactly have you been doing?” I say hoping it isn’t that bad.

It turns out Michelle has spent hours outside in the foggy coldness of Unshine – on – sea asking people about the Crocamander.

“What!” I shouted. “Why would you do that, what is wrong with you?”

“Well you should be happy to know that I know where it lives.” She says with a smug face.

“What do you mean you know where it lives; I don’t believe you.” I tell her forgetting that she will show me.

“Fine I’ll show you” Michelle says.

Oh no the sentence I’ve been dreading to hear. I started to think about it. I mean it is probably just a joke anyways. We are not going to see that thing; are we.

“Ok then you can show me.”

When we get outside it is dark. I want to go back inside but Michelle won’t let me. We get to the beach and see two pairs of footsteps one leading into the sea and one leading… The6 were leading straight up to the haunted caves of terror. If yo go there you never come back. The baddest thing  was that Michelle was making her way towards them. I knew I should not follow this crazy maniac.

The cave was lit with these weird looking rocks.

“Isn’t it pretty.” Michelle says in amazement.

“Yeah.” I say as believable as I can make it.

I think about going back but I’m already here and I need to make sure that Michelle is ok. I heard a growl and laugh because I know it’s just Michelle teasing me. But then I see her running towards me. So I started running to. I don’t know where we’re going I just want to get away from that cave.
