Clockwork Chapter 3
Dean sat down silently in the shed, looking at the floor, whilst Emma searched highly desperate for a way out. She checked the window to see if she could fit, but it was too small. She also tried to shout for help, but that didn’t work either. It was no use with Dean just sitting there, not even thinking about helping her. She angrily snapped at Dean for not thinking of a way out, “ Instead of just sitting there looking like a tired mum of 7, you might at least find a way to escape!” However, Dean just exhaled, saying that the plan on how to escape was difficult. Emma just folded her arms and tapped her foot eagerly whilst her face turned red. There seemed no idea on how to escape, and what was even worse, Dean had seemed to give up.
As the sun fell, the shed became gloomy and cold. Inside, the shadows extended across the room and soon it became dark. Outside, the night sky was freckled with stars and the full moon cast a light across the yards of Withersmore. All of a sudden, Emma heard a strange noise.Within a minute, they were both at the window ledge gaping out. A high pitched squealing was in the distance and glowing red eyes appeared in the dark. It was Marc, their mechanical eagle. Emma wound him up and he dropped a key in her hand.
Using the key, Emma carefully unlocked the door. She and Dean snuck out into the garden full of roses, with Marc leading the way across the yard to the safety of an old farmhouse. There, Dean made a fire while Emma explained everything that they had discovered. They escaped, but questions remained: where was the clock and what had happened to Albert Chester and his plans?
