The Broken Man by Isla

John’s hands were as wrinkly as an elephant’s skin. As he walked upstairs, he felt broken deep inside. When he rolled over he had a pain in his back from when he’d been to visit his daughter Ellie, her baby girl McKenzie and her husband Mark. She had asked him many times ”Are you ok dad? ” but John had ignored her. What should she she do?  Quietly he felt worn out as his eyes closed.

Minutes later, he woke up and took off his shoes and coat. He stooped and fell back to sleep again. Would he ever wake up? He had noticed that McKenzie was wearing the striped pyjamas from when Ellie was a baby. It had brought back a lot of good memories before John’s and Ellie’s mum had died. It felt warm and cozy here- he never wanted it to go away.

The Abandoned city

Max walked towards to the abandoned city uneasy because his lawyer sent him to investigate the place, his lawyer gave him a unbreakable suit what can keep him safe so if something went wrong then he will be safe.

Ones I entered the place I had to start investigating, but then I got a call from my lawyer but lawyer was spelled wrong so I did not answer the call because I knew that wasn’t him with lawyer spelt wrong. It was the time, I had to go enter the city. As I cautiously walked to the city I had a tazer at the ready and then entered the place. Oliver SWW

Dead Soul Wood

Nella woke with a gasp. Luckily, she was safe in her brass bed. It was halloween, Nella’s least favourite holiday. She had just had a terrifying nightmare.

It was the dead of night, Nella crept along the landing to her parents room. Her parents were sleeping peacefully, Nella decided to not wake them and to go back to her room. Just then the doorbell went. Nella’s mum and dad had not noticed. She tiptoed down the stairs to answer it, missing the ninth step because she knew it creaked. Slowly, Nella opened the door and wondered ‘Who would be visiting at this hour’. But there was no one there.

Suddenly, it was like a magnetic connection, Nella was being pulled out of the house. She was like a fish on a line. Nella turned around, the trees were calling her back home. As the moon hoola hooped around the sky, screams echoed. Nella glided past her street, her street was called, Aded Lous Doow Drive and if she scrambled the letters into a different word it spelt ‘Dead soul wood’. She was amazed that she had never noticed it before.

Nella slid through the graveyard gate. There was a gush of wind and a groul, a vague silhouette darted. Roots sprouted from the ground, holding her feet still so she could not run away. Over grown buses clawed at her ankles like begging skeletons. Branches thickened and rapped around Nella’s body. She let out a scream, no one heard her.

‘Am I still asleep in my nightmare?’ Nella wondered.

Sarah By Cameron SWW

Sarah whelped, the rain was getting worse. The night was getting darker. Lightning vibrated through trees as fire perished into ash. Thunder echoed through the air as wind targeted Sarah. Pulling up her hood, rocks crawled across the ground causing her to stumble into a wall.

She sprinted up the road at incredible paste swapping her heads angles to search for her house. A smile dragged her cheeks up as she located her address 76 Oak Street. Collapsing through the door, Dad peered his hand around the wall corner shuffling it trying to grab the newspaper, Sarah grabbed, slapped his hand and pronounced

“Not even a hello?” before frisbeeing it into the dog’s mouth.

A ghostly shadow

Brooke shivered in the cold October breeze. Thunder started. “Great” mumbled Brooke. “Absolutely great”. As she crept down the pavement shadows started forming. It grew bigger and bigger. Around 20:19 silence fell which was quite odd for Brooke because she lives on the streets. But she saw that shadow again. “Ugh what do you want from me!?” “You” replied the shadow. “Me?” “Yes Brooke you”. “H-how do you know my name?” “Oh I know everyone’s information including you”. Brooke sprinted down the roads hoping  the shadow won’t catch up.

The frightful night

All night, thunder crashed on Sophie’s dusty bedroom window. She lay there on the cold wooden floor, her head in her knees, waiting patiently for it to stop. Frightfully she heard a crash outside, Sophie peered through a window full of condensation to see: bins toppled over and lamp posts smashed on the concrete ground. Suddenly all the lights went out in her house as her front door creaked open.

DEAD MAN BEACH

Stealthily I was sneaking out the window but my dog stormed in to my room . He kept barking he woke my mum up. She stamped into my room she said to me you are grounded I said to my mum but the she said no buts she slammed the door I started crying I squeezed out the window landed on the porch jumped of and ran.

half an hour later I arrived at Dead man beach. There was sign and it said no trespassing , but I didn’t care I climbed over the fence. I was shocked there was golden sand and the water was fresh bright blue water and there were seagulls flapping their wings around It was here that I heard heavy footsteps and breathing. Then silence.
I in zipped the tent. The water was grey and the sand was black it looked like the black hole and there were bats flying around suddenly there was lighting I started ruining . There were shells everywhere. They kept poking me in the foot. It felt like I was getting stabbed in the foot.
I jumped back over the fence and ran back home When I opened the door my mum was sitting on the sofa and she said “where have you been ?”

I said, “I ran away.” she said “ How dare you! You are grounded,”  but I was kind of happy because I didn’t want anything bad happen to me …

The Forest’s Secret

Miles collapsed on his bed with nothing to do. Suddenly, he got an idea. He chucked a ton of pillows under his blanket so it looked like he was asleep, then unlocked the window and leaped down…forgetting he was on the third floor. Luckily, he landed in the back of a trash truck. He slipped out and sprinted through the alleyways (he called them secret shortcuts) and eventually got his destination.

He arrived at Spine Snapper Forest. Despite the name, Spine Snapper Forest was littered with cherry blossom trees, filled with pandas and covered by lizards. Bright sunlight slipped between the branches of the trees. Miles wandered aimlessly through, admiring the scenery. Eventually he settled by a pond to relax, dreaming about goblins and gremlins.

A loud cracking noise woke Miles up. He looked around, breathing heavily yet silently to avoid whatever made the noise catching him… or whoever. When he saw nothing was there he calmed down, and then realised there was something… A crimson eye flicked open and shut in the middle of the darkness and the smell of mouldy mushrooms filled his nostrils. He cautiously walked towards it, but without warning it disappeared.

Miles heard footsteps coming towards him from behind. Miles’s feet decided it was time to leg it. He dashed down the street and his surroundings seemed blurred… apart from four red and black tentacles… He kept running and reached the exit.

Exhausted, he walked along the road, rain dripping on his face. Or was it sweat? He tried not think about what had happened, as the more he thought about it the more his brain ached. Rain spat down from the frosty evening sky, and in the middle of the road he saw the silhouette of a small boy with tentacles on its back, and a bright crimson light flashed from the left side of its face. Many days passed, many days passed, and Miles was never heard from again, though some believe he’s still out there…

Spells by Phoebe

It was coming.I squatted down inside a grim, dirty crate.Would it find me?I could feel my heart thumping, my teeth chattering and my throat was as dry as a desert. The strange book glanced at me in the fading light as I shut the box. I think it was trying to be reassuring. I thought of how mad Miss Taylor would be  if I were to be late.

The iron door slowly opened and in walked a vague shape  it howled. I shuddered and waited for it to go away. I saw a shimmering blue eye. I tried to remember what had brought me here. I thought about it.

It had only been two hours ago, when dad sent me to the shops with a big tenner. When I was coming home. I saw a shopping centre and couldn’t help but run into a big store with bunting all around me. Soon, I found a book and it looked stunning it had spells that I had heard.I quickly saw a  conveyor that led me outside.

When Miss Taylor went to say something interesting I muttered a spell and BOOM!!!

”I think it went wrong?”
