New Home

It is a dark gloomy night when we first see one of Podkin’s Dad’s friend. He is a very kind hearted and warm rabbit, he has been a friend of Podkin’s father for many years. The rabbits were in shock when they saw podkin coming through the burrow entrance. Podkin was the leader of one of the five realms and had been in the dark, scary woods and no one had been expecting him in the burrow.

Podkin had been looking for safety and remembered his father telling of his friend who would always look after him and guide him when needed. Jack was a large rabbit, very strong and brave. Podkin was sure that Jack would be able to help him find the Gorm who killed his father. He wanted to plan his revenge and knew Jack would be able to help.

Jack and Podkin sat in the front room of his burrow, it was a small room lit by a large fire. The two chairs were upturned boxes and wobbled on the dirt floor. Jack had made a warm cup of milk, they talked for hours and planned how they would find the Gorm who had killed his father. They knew they had to find lots of weapons and other rabbits who would help them.

How to keep your Unicorn as a pet by Bertie

Firstly you must make yourself familiar with the  International Standards on Unicorn Husbandry (ISUH for short) or you risk your Unicorn being ceased by National Animal Care.

Comfortability

Before you acquire your Unicorn you need to identify the right space.  The minimum requirement  for housing a UK standard pet Unicorn is 2m by 2m perimeter with 4m in height so that they are safe.  Next, they require nesting materials such as hay and a blanket to keep them warm and comfortable.

Now you have received your Unicorn phone the Administry of Animal Care to ensure it is registered and to make sure you have met all the requirements for housing a Unicorn. This means they know where all the Unicorns are.

Trust

Once you have acquired your Unicon it is essential to build trust, if they do not trust you they will not eat the food you provide so for the first month you have to feed it anonymously.

Diet

Fruit, vegetables and occasional meat are the basics of a Unicorn diet.  Artificial sugars are extremely dangerous to Unicorns, kind of like dogs and chocolate, therefore you must make sure that they do not have any.  Also, they are particularly fond of nuts which you can use to train them or modify their behaviour.

Exercise

It would be great if you have a field to exercise your unicorn in so that they can run around safely.  They enjoy games like hide and seek since they have an adventurous spirit.

Finally, having a Unicorn may result in you having a friend for life so make sure you spend time with it everyday and enjoy it.

Unicorn spotted in Yellowstone National Park by a group of young English hikers yesterday afternoon.

The hikers were exploring the mountains of Yellowstone National Park when they spotted the Mountain Unicorn.  The three English hikers are on a gap year before starting University in London, so far they have been to different countries all around the world, their last stop was Japan.

Landing in Salt Lake City the hikers travelled straight to the famous Yellowstone park to explore the mountains. While exploring a particularly beautiful track they glimpsed a Mountain Unicorn. The Mountain Unicorn is normally very hard to spot because of its grey body but because it was moving through the grass it caught their eye.  They instinctively pulled out their phones and took pictures to post online later that day.

They knew it was a type of Unicorn but none of them knew it could project deadly venom out of its horn. This Unicorn has not been seen for over 2 years and some people were worried it had gone extinct after a really cold winter.

Trying to be quiet the hikers tried to sneak up on the Unicorn, not knowing the danger they were putting themselves in, as the Unicorn will fight back when surprised and feels threatened. As soon as they got close to the Unicorn, it sensed them and thought it was being attacked so it fought back, pricking Ryan, the eldest of the hikers, in the hand.  The symptoms started to show an hour later when they were back in their hotel and Ryan was feeling dizzy, was sick and fell unconscious.

The other hikers, Lucy and Jim, called an ambulance. After the medics asked what might have caused the vomiting, as soon as they mentioned the little grey Unicorn, Ryan was rushed to the hospital.  As it was already in his body, this can sometimes cause death, but Ryan was extremely lucky and is only paralysed from the waist down, this will soon wear off and Ryan will be back up and about because of physical therapy. Signs have been put up in the area warning people not to approach the Unicorn.

“I didn’t know the side effects of getting close to a Unicorn, I was just trying to have fun, it looked so cute”

Mountain Unicorn

The mountain unicorn is very small, instead of being the size of a horse it is not much bigger than a frog!  Rare for many unicorns is that it has poison that comes out of its own, but mixed with some chemicals it can cure diseases.

Unsurpisngly this unicorn is normally found in mountain areas but a little more surprisingly it also can be spotted in woods and forests.  They are most likely to be found in hot and tropical place especially in South American countries such as Brazil.

Depending on the region the colour of them can be slightly different.  Those found in the mountains are black and grey which allows them to blend in with the rocks.  This is like camouflage because they are hunted by eagles and nearly everything else that is bigger than it!  The one in the forests are hunted by monkeys and have even been eaten by big fish if they’re near the water.  These are more greeny and browny to make them harder to spot.  The horn of both types has very lethal venom that can kill even people which helps protect them from predators.  It is also captured for its venom as it is so lethal it can be used as a weapon.  Tribes capture them and sell it for a lot of money.

Usually it only eats leaves but sometimes they feed off carcasses of anything else they might find.

Suprisingly they can also be kept as pets because some people remove the venom from the horn.  This needs to be done every couple of months.  They make good pets because they are nice and furry and have weird and unusual behaviour; they can sometimes be lazy, sometimes roll around and sometimes really playful.

Scar Scratchers

 There was a thick fog and a full moon rose into the sky. That’s when the Scar Scratchers strike. A man walked through the woods unaware of his terrible fate. That’s when the first one came as light as paper it glided down. It’s eyes, that were as grey as a storm, started at it’s target ;a fury brown body almost invisible; it’s claws extended; it’s wings ending with a spike; its teeth like daggers. It landed on the mans shoulder as small as a post-it note and bit ,releasing the scent of blood. The man didn’t even have time to scream before he got ripped apart by a million razor sharp teeth. One minute later, there was no sign that the man had ever been there.

The great emporium

There are some places were no man ever goes. The great emporium was like that.

Even though in spring a cherry blossom sprouts through the roof. Even though, the door way was so welcoming. Even though, you could smell homemade cake and melting sugar. Even though, you could hear a clock gently ticking. Even though the display was piled high with surprises.

But no one ever entered. There was nothing wrong with the door way or anything else it was just that nobody would enter ,which caused other people not to enter, until Tom.Tom had always been curious that’s why he entered the Emporium. It was a sunny day in the middle of spring when Tom decided to look around the great Emporium .Nobody ever entered. Tom didn’t know why it looked exciting; that was part of the reason why Tom entered. The Emporium was even more exciting than he expected. There was pikachu ,which is a pokémon, running round in a cage, an army of toy soldiers and thousands of more surprises. But then he noticed the book it was an old leather book sat on a table. Just before he could pick it up, a hand snatched the book. It was a man with a walking stick ,short grey hair wrinkled face and a wolf sat next to him.

Dragons scale

If I were summoned

 to create a wonder

,I would take the :

feather of a Phoenix sat in an active volcano;

the chill of an iceberg’s stomach churning with cold wind;

the danger of doom;

the grey of a swirling storm soaking a village;

the the bang of the fireworks spraying infinite colours;

the sound of nothingness being destroyed by a shout ;

the pink of a sunset far in the east;

the red of blood on a Samurai’s sword;

the shimmering scales of a golden dragon.

Behind the doors

Go and open the purple door,

maybe there is a violet scorpion ready to sting,

a portal sucking in an entire dimension

or a beetle climbing up a wall.

Go and and open the grey door.

maybe there is a pack of wolves howling at a crescent moon,

a rock pool bartered by the sea

or an army of thunder clouds covering the city.

The poison spiked flame dragon

   The poison spiked flame dragon has scales of flame, spikes covered in poison run along its back. It has wings with a sharp curving talons on the end and a long curling tail.

   It lives in active volcanos were it can regenerate heat to survive. If it looses its heat it will die

   It eats seep from nearby fields. It swoops down head first so it doesn’t burn its meal

   It can lay ten to thirty eggs which are burning hot like the dragon inside.
