How to look after a baby unicorn?

Have you just got a baby unicorn to look after? Are you surprised how to look after a precious creacher? Don’t panic. Read these step-by-step instructions and you will be able to enjoy your pet and have the pleasure of watching the baby unicorn develop healthily and happily.

What you need: a soft blanket, shade, a water bowl, a food bowl, leaves, grass and plenty of kindness.

What to do:

First, make an enclosed space for your baby unicorn so it can’t get out and get into danger.

Next, get a soft blanket for your baby unicorn to sleep and make sure that there is shade as unicorns love shade.

Then, talk to your baby unicorn and stroke kindly as unicorns love human contact.

Also, private water for your unicorn as baby unicorns can get really firsty.You could also have leaves and grass to put in your food bowl. This will result in a healthy unicorn.

After that, make sure your unicorn is getting enough exercise so it will be fit and strong.

Later on, make the time for you to play with your unicorn otherwise in time your unicorn will go away.

Finally, put on music as if you play music it will dance with you.    

As time passes your unicorn will grow out of its home so you will need to build a new one  as it will have trouble getting in the old home. Make sure you don’t break the old house  as if your unicorn has a baby it can have a home on her own.

Chapter 4

I am ready to run but the wall is facing me. The purple egg simmers and I notice that it is covered in little bits of pink. But we are trapped. It’s only then Giggle talking, in a low, calming voice. “ It’s ok,”said Giggle, talking a brave step closer to the Catamander. I can hear Giggle is trying to sound calm and disguise her fear.

The Catamander halts and looks (with patience) at Giggle. It’s blue eyes are fixed on us (more than me the Catamander is interested) both. “We’re not to hurt you or your glowing egg,” Giggle holds out her arms with open hands to show we are on warning. They both sand and gazing at each other. The Catamander seems to be listening and quiet. It gives a low purr; it stoped getting ready to attack. I think, it seems. Giggle is talking to the Catamander and its working. 

“ We are leaving now, “ says Giggle, stepping to one side and together we walk past the catamander. Its eyes hold mine and in them I see waves the life of the ocean. It bows its head, she sheaves its claws and steps back as we pass by, safe at last.

Outside, I take a deep breath and exhale with relief. Inside, we can hear the Catamander shuffle towards its nest and the sound of it waiting for it to hatch.

The sea mist has vanished. A bright moon eyes the sea and stars flood the dark sky, their reflection speckles along the sea. All is cal. We went back to the hotel. No one should find the Catamander and her glowing egg. Giggle talks rapidly about how to keep them (the catamander and her egg) safe. She is full of ideas- pretending there has been a ghost haunting the hospital so the council will put more signs up so no one will go there. I listen as she speaks at a mile per hour, her face determined and forceful.

By the time we are walking through the awakening town. The sun edges over the calm sea. It sends forth shadows across the sands. Suzy is putting out new deck chairs as if it might be a lucky day. She waves at us with a cheesy grin. Mif Corner Cafe is opening up so that means he is up and running. By the time we get home the cars are moving in a hurry.

I fumble with the keys and shove the door open. Inside it is cold and quiet, but it will be swarming with people later.bAs i open the lost and founder station, my mind races. Will the catamander’s egg hatch safely? Will we be able to keep the mum and baby catamander safe from prying eyes?

Giggle wanders over to the windowsill . I stand by her as she gazes out of the hospital. She found something that glowed deep purple. It had pink on it. We look at each other, thinking the same thought.

All day, Giggle has her head in her books, ancient logs and legends. In a leather-bound book, volume 2, she finds a captain’s log written in 1841. It is a fishing vessel that netted, what the fishermen believed, a beautiful, smooth rock that glowed purple with pink on it. They kept the find but that night, the rock shattered and the captain told the story of how the ship was visited by the catamander. They managed to capture it and throw it into the sea. But ever since then, the fisherman have an unspoken mission to find and murder any type of mander they capture.

That evening we talk. Our adventure isnt over It has only just began.

Chapter 3

One day later and we are in my room. We wait in my room, taking hot chocolate and biscuits, my favourite. Outside, the howl of the wind makes us jump. Inside, I panic in fear as the Catamander might have followed us. However, Giggle has plans. “ Rose you must help.” Oh boy, I think. “ I have a faint idea where it lives,” said Giggel.

It seems that Giggle has spent four hours in the wind and freezing cold, looking up and down the pier and the beach. Giggle has said that she has seen footprints the amount we’ve seen, but by the old house that was a hospital.

I lock up the hotel and make sure the windows are closed and the lights are switched off, before we leave.I make sure we have torches and we are in fuzzy coats. The sea mist rolls in the town and the promenade so we can only see some of  the way. It is like being stuck and not moving at all. We reach the old hospital. No one is allowed in. It is life-threatening. For Giggle it seems to get her excited. I know that I can’t leave her. She is so stubborn, annoying and weird and I follow her. We get on are way, lost in the mist. 

I didn’t believe Giggle but she was right. The footprints were very clear. The footprints were leading in. In the hospital. “ Lets seize the time,” said Giggle, clicking on her torch on and illuminating the hospital. I don’t feel like seizing anything will help, but I have a feeling that Giggle will lead me into trouble!                

The hospital is dull. Totally dull. It smells of rotten fish and seaweed. Items are scated on the floor. My heart thuds as we go deeper in, looking side to side in fear. When I thought that nothing is here, Giggle finds it. There in the corner of the room, is a nest made of seaweed, rages and fur. In the nest is an egg, glowing a deep purple. The Catamader has an egg.

In that moment, I feel a stab of fear. We can’t be here.  “Lets go right now,” I hiss at Giggle tugging her t-shirt and moving her to the protection of the hotel. But our way is plugged. Something is coming our way, between the door and us. It doesn’t sound glad. We’ve heard it before, the low deep growl, the snarl, and the fur- covered feet smacking against the floor. We both shine our torches to see what it is and there it it. The Catamander. Giggle steps forward; I ran back.  

Chapter 2

We sit in silence for a couple of minutes then she (the girl) stands up. 

“What are you doing and what did you see? ”I ask. Before she answers, she is going to say that she saw the Catamander. I’m right.

40 minutes later, I am outside with Giggle – the girls name – where Giggle first came from. It was pouring outside. I wish I stayed inside with the fire burning to keep my little room warm. Giggle wants my to come to an abandoned toy shop. 

“Why do you want me here?” I ask,confused.

“This is where I saw the Catamander,”said Giggle. We went to the pier. We saw them. Great big footprints and fur hinting that the Catamander was here.

We went to the rusted, remote door of the toy-store. I stay where the door is as I am full of fear – Giggle looks unafraid. When we got in, the fur trall was much more than a little bit.

“Giggle why did you…,” I stop at what I saw.

“I told you that the Catamander is here,” when she saw my face she turned around and screamed. Outside, the wind roared like a lion. Inside, the Catamander growled a low, deep growl. Giggle and me ran for it but the Catamander leapt in the air and into the freezing, crashing waves.

Walking in Brandon.                                               

On Monday, I find a baby cat on the path,

the cat was like a fluffy teddy bear, a broken promise

left to fend for itself. 

On Tuesday, I walk through the forest,

with towering trees, blooming flowers dancing,

with the most beautiful colours.

On Wednesday, I saw a rabbit hole,

covered in dirt to keep the watching predators away,

playing hide and seek in its burrow. 

On Thursday, I touch the cold metal of the slide,

the slide was as cold as forest,

in the wind.

On Friday, I smell the fresh cornell air from the seaside,

deep, blue sea upping its way to the beach,

children diving in the sea.

On Saturday, I hear the jets fling by,

the jets come over and over,

in the air.

On Sunday, I dream of blooming flowers,

fish swimming in the deep blue sea,

and mermaids having the time of their life in the party.
