How to find Purplebeard’s treasure

First, swim to the 7 seas

where sea sapphires shine bright

like icicles reflecting the Sun.

Stop when you reach the Glass Mountain

and its rainbow will guide you.

Track the unique unicorn

through the gory goblins’ cave

and into the Frightening Forest.

Inside of the gnome’s wishing well,

there will be a century-old tunnel.

Tip-toe into the mining-hole

and observe the thing

that is creeping towards you…

Beware of the Tyger’s enemies

and take no notice of the goblins’ words.

Bathe in the Mirror River,

with the help of a dinosaur’s flippers

Now you will find a golden compass.

This will lead you

to the pirate’s treasure.

The Surreal Cities

On the Island of Aiza,

I found red rubies winking

in the darkness of a cavern

like a dash of sunlight on a dancing ocean.

On the Island of Aliza,

I tasted delicious droplets of lemon & lime juice

splashing delicately onto my food-taster.

On the Island of Yasmin,

I felt the soft petals of a butterfly blue jasmine flower

swaying as graceful as a beautiful ballerina

on a wonderful Summer’s night.

On the Island of Mishka,

I heard the gruff growling of a female fox

protecting her younger bunny-hunters

from danger.

How to tame a unicorn

If you are in trouble and there are minotaurs chasing you (for some reason) read this to find out its greatest fear. If the Atlas sisters have almost killed the world with minotaurs, you could end up being a superhero!

Fortunately, none of the equipment is expensive. What you could do is:

  1. Make sure it has black fur but check if it’s a pony, otherwise this treatment won’t work. Unicorn features include:

  1. Spiky teeth and a really long horn
  2. Screeching to call friends
  3. A love for Skittles
  4. Family-friendly
  5. Lives in dark caverns
  1. Next, beware of its long horn! It could strike you one second and the next second, you’d be dead! Try to talk calmly and don’t make it afraid. Use words like this:

  • Hello,
  • I’m your friend.
  • Here are some sweets (make sure they’re skittles)
  • It’s all right
  • Come on, let’s fight some minotaurs.
  1. After that, if the unicorn is slightly jumpy, here are some things you could try:

  • Whisper gently, “Calm down, Jamal,”
  • Give sweeties
  • Stroke its fur gently
  • If these don’t work, I got nothin’.

Finally, If any minotaurs are roaming around, (and you need a pet unicorn) just use these instructions. Remember, keep the unicorn calm. Otherwise, you’ll become the No.1 supervillain!

How to know if you have the unicorn plague

  • Have you seen rainbow **** on the ground?
  • Do you dream about candy floss clouds?
  • Are you eating too many carrots?
  • Did you start growing fur?
  • Are there skittles popping up in your drawers?
  • Do you hear galloping all the time?

Dear Kate Bishop,

Dear Hawkeye/Kate Bishop,

I am writing this letter to persuade you to stop putting your life at risk and get yourself a real job.

My first point is that you are a suspect in every crime you investigate. Clint Barton (your ‘so called trainer’) treats you like you are just a little kid who’s still learning. I presume you are thinking this too. Have you realised he blames you for all of the trouble? Doesn’t he make you feel like you’re just his back-up? Don’t you think that he just wants to be famous? You should be his trainer!

Also, I am troubled by the thought of you failing exams. A few years ago, you hardly managed to get into Uni! Your accuracy in archery is perfect but your accuracy in spelling is not so great. You don’t know how to spell arrow, let alone Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! You get full marks in archery but you need to catch up in everything else.

Furthermore, have you lay down in bed, stressed? Have you been having headaches because of your intense training?  I am worried that you are being pushed too far and Clint is making you vulnerable.

To summarise, why not leave the pressure and excel in Uni. Leave Hawkeye’s “protection”  and hopefully graduate. Your experience of investigating will help you with problem solving. If you graduate, you can take a job as a detective with me.

the phoenix

Outside, trees danced and flew off the surface. Inside, Daisy limped across the building, trying to stay away from the door. Piles of rubble lay on the floor, wooden crates were stacked up against the walls and pieces of metal were laying on the ground. To her panic, she couldn’t hide anywhere. She was stuck!

Following her was the unknown man, holding a long tube of iron that shimmered radiantly. Daisy froze…but then, something glowed, it shone as bright as a glowworm. Floating above was a pair of fiery wings and a golden beak. Whatever was there, it wanted to help Daisy.

It was enormous. Enormous and scarlet. Daisy noticed she was under an actual phoenix! She couldn’t believe it. It flapped its feathery wings and screeched. Then, the man sprinted out of the building. Daisy took a step forwards, very curious.

The phoenix dropped down on the floor, wheezing. Blood dripped from her wing. Daisy had never seen a creature so wounded. She could hear her heartbeat pumping and she saw her feathers twitching.

They both gazed at each other, surprised. Daisy felt like she was dreaming, she thought that this was her imagination, a fantasy. She tried to disbelieve this. She smiled and stroked her head. The phoenix looked up and curled around Daisy. Then she cried a squawk of happiness. Her beak gleamed gold. Daisy thought the phoenix was in some pain.

Just then, the phoenix whispered. It was a sweet, soft voice that felt like they were above the clouds. It was a voice of sweets, sunshine and rainbows. “Please, help me,” she sobbed. “Help me find the portal.”

Daisy took a deep breath and nodded. She didn’t understand but she wanted to help this beautiful bird. “They will come again,” she explained, “so we have to go.”

Half an hour later, Daisy and the phoenix snook across the roads that led to Manchester Ghost Town. She knew this place well and she knew that no one came here. Rumour had it that ghosts lived here. (Well, it’s clear in the name) Daisy came here lots of times and watched the wildflowers grow. The phoenix slept in some bushes whilst Daisy was on the lookout.

Chapter 1-Daisy Flower

It was a windy Wednesday evening in January. The rain splashed upon the cobbled streets in Bolton. A couple of stars shone luminously, showing silhouettes of anything that might be lurking in the alleyways.

Daisy Flower didn’t bother that the cold was biting her nose, she only cared about crossing the checkpoint. She pulled her hood over her head, hoping no one could see her shuffle onto City Road.

Unluckily, she could just about make out a guard standing near the checkpoint where the borderline of the small village and the big city of Greater Manchester lay.

“Next!” the guard bellowed, rolling his eyes. He gave Daisy a ‘give me’ signal and she handed over her bag. “What ya doin’ with these, ey.” he spat, yanking a newspaper out of her bag. “I’m going around the city to do my paper rounds,” muttered Daisy, cowering under her hood. The guard lifted up the checkpoint and pointed to Manchester.

Seconds later, Daisy was roaming through Manchester. Here, large roads were common and small streets were…very rare. People did whatever they wanted: dancing; chatting; anything! Daisy really wished she was like them, not an immigrant.

Daisy looked down whilst quietly dropping newspapers in front of the doors. She tried to stay secretive, always remembering

what her mum said, ‘Stay away from strangers.’ ……. Suddenly, a man grabbed her by the wrists and pulled her into a dark alleyway.

“Gimme dat!” declared the man, snatching her backpack. “And any cash!” Daisy crouched, pushed him and ran off, walking sideways to avoid getting squashed. But then, she couldn’t go anywhere, she was trapped!

There was the mans shadow, towering over Daisy. It looked like Daisy was his puppet, the man just reaching out to grab her. Daisy gulped. The mans eyes shone with selfishness, glaring at Daisy. She spotted a tall flat, abandoned. And a minute later, she was through the door.

Colour-Beamer

Rainbow, rainbow,

why can no one

mark the foot of your delightful delicacy,

where there seems to be a cheerful pot of gold?

Rainbow, rainbow,

where is your clone?

Are you sure both of you have

the same DNA?

Rainbow, rainbow,

why do your colours beam brightly

like an aurora in the night?

Why does your beauty

hypnotise our eyes?

Rainbow, rainbow,

why don’t you come out

In the frosty Winter?

 Rainbow, rainbow,

is it true

you lasted 9 hours back then?

Rainbow, rainbow,

who painted you

on that blue canvas?

WHO AM I?

I stay aware of being the foxes’ prey and quickly shake my tail.

I lift my lengthy ears, they’re as long as rails.

I am a vegetable-diner, a burrow-hider.

I’m a frosty fur-wearer, a high-hopper.

I’ll twitch my nose as fast as I bunny-hop

And i’ll plummet onto the sofa.

I’ll snatch toys in disguise,

as a tiny teddy that my owner sleeps with.

Then i’ll sleep silently in my peaceful cage.
