Crystal seasons

A river is                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                as frozen as Antarctica,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     like a winter wonderland.

A frozen winter.

A tree is                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  as wavy as seaweed,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          like a sun shine beginning.

A sunny summer

A squirrel is                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           as quiet as a mouse ,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         like a gracefull autumn leaf.

Calmness of autumn

A flower is                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            as lovely as spring,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              like a flower blooming.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     A growing spring

A Rainbow of Masks

I wore the pink mask and saw

flamingos walking gracefully,

blossoms blooming in the bushes and

raspberries growing in the trees.

I wore the green mask and saw

frogs jumping and hopping,

leaves growing after winter and

grapes dangling from the trees.

I wore the yellow mask and saw

lemons growing nicely in bushes,

sunflowers pollinated by bees and

yellow leaves falling from trees.

I wore the blue mask and saw

butterflies gliding through the sky,

blueberries being eaten gracefully

and the sea waves lapping over each other.

I wore the purple mask and saw

lavender being bloomed on the vines,

grapes being picked from a bush and

amethyst being mined from the caves.

Octomander

Octomander

Prologue

You’ve probably been to Troon. In summer, you’ve probably felt the warm summer heat bouncing off your skin and maybe even got your pool out and had a refreshing dip. When you went there, it must have felt like a holiday to any warm country. You’ve probably been taken to the Ice Cream Factory. It’s that kind of place… in the summer.

But in the winter, you probably felt the piercing wind nipping at your skin. You should try being there when the rain smacks onto the ground and hail hits your window. You should try being there when all the children squish their faces up at the window to see the frozen grass and icy roads.

Chapter One

My name is Ezra Fitz and I work at the Ice Cream Factory. Most of my friends call me Ez. I do the job of making sure customers get what ice cream they want. I scoop the ice cream, put it in the cone and sell it. Some people tell me it sounds boring but I quite enjoy it. I am very busy in the summer because everyone needs to cool off but in the winter everyone is cool enough. I stay just round the corner from the shop , so I’m always on time. I love my job because it’s amazing seeing the smile on people’s faces when I hand them their ice cream.

I heard the bell of the door jingle. I take a look at my watch and its 11:12,it’s very late. I come out the back of the shop to see a girl, standing and looking outside the shop, worried. Suddenly, she spun round to look at me with her pale face and dark bags under her eyes. She put her hands on her scared knees .Trying to catch her breath, she whispers “Hide me!”

Before I continue with what happens next, there is a story of our town that I should explain. It happened very long ago so the story doesn’t go around much anymore. Local legends state that a monster comes out of the sea at night and walks down the beach, searching for someone to attack. Apparently, it was related to the Malamander and it is known as the Octomander and it only comes out at night since no one is there. It smells of rotten fish and sea water. It left long, wide footprints on the sand. They say that the Octomander wandered the streets panting, stomping and growling. When the locals ever heard this noise, they would lock the doors and windows, draw the curtains and hide.

Some say that the creature was hunting. Some say it needed help. Some say it needed to be fed. Personally, I’ve never heard this creature wander the beach, when the town is goes dark, it might be the storms, the wind that makes these noises that are mistaken for this creature.

“Why do you want me to hide you?” I whispered back at her, looking through the window. “What’s happened out there?”

“I’ve seen it!” she cried, ” Lock all windows and doors, draw the curtains and hide!”

The spectator

Ty and Mariana woke up to a smell of smoke coming from the top of the ship .They clambered up the stairs. Grabbed on the railings feeling the ship shaking almost as if it was an earthquake. They could hear the sound of something climbing round the ship. Mariana clutched onto Ty’s jumper forcing him to fall to the ground. Ty stood up and felt a warm breeze across his back. Smoke took over the ship causing them to not see. They started coughing. The smoke started to clear. Ty turned around and his jaw dropped.

A fire orange eye was spectating there every move. Ty didn’t know what to do he was stood their frozen. Then a sudden wave of horror washed up upon him. Mariana walked up towards the eye. Her eyes met the dragons she knew what it wanted without speaking or hearing. She wasn’t scared she knew it wouldn’t harm them. She stepped back to ty. Soon later, the captain came from below deck holding the baby dragon. The mothers eyes changed it looked like she had targeted the view of the baby dragon.

A new crew member

They had finally fixed the ship and heard a cracking noise from the inside. Ty took a deep breath and cautiously entered the ship. Mariana and the captain followed behind Ty. He turned back at them and said” nothing was wrong.” A quick second later a small gush of fire set Ty’s jumper on fire. Mariana tossed a bucket of water at him. As the captain was walking side to side with hand on his hip shouting at Ty and Mariana for wasting the last collection of water they had left. A small dragon popped its head out of the barrel behind them it gave them a small jump scare. It had blue and purple scales and big lushes eyes, the captain budged through to take a look .He clambered to research room below deck. Ty helped himself to a new pair of clothes and got dry. Meanwhile Mariana was bashing the keys on the computer for research the captain was holding a magnifying glass right up to the poor dragon’s eye. PING a notification popped up on the screen it said be careful you are in danger. Mariana glanced at the dragon thinking how it would do any harm. She kept it to herself as everyone had already been worried enough. Ty came down stairs with a pair of massive pair of shorts and tiny top. The baby dragon started laughing. “It’s the only thing left “exclaimed Ty they all went upstairs to find out what the baby dragon liked. Soon after they found out it likes everything but their favorite is cotton candy.

Will the dragon harm them?

Will Mariana tell everyone her secret?

And will the dragon find its mother?

I guess we will see what happens next…..

Skyship

Ty and Mariana heard the captain calling “get below deck! “

Without hesitation, they rushed down the steps they wanted to ask what had happened but they knew it wasn’t the right time. They put their hands on the railing as they heard a massive screech. Peering between the steps on the stairway they could see claws as sharp as a blade and fire red feathers. As Mariana was clutching the back of Ty’s jumper she asked “what is it?

“A bird, but not a small one” he replied

Mariana peeked through the railing she gasped for some air and ducked her head immediately. Suddenly, they heard a bang, the air ship popped. Despite being inside the boat, the air was rushing past their faces. They had no concept of how high they were or how close to the ground before… BANG!!! They lifted their head up and asked loads of questions. Mariana had a bruise on her for head and Ty had a piece of glass stuck in the palm of his hand they called for the captain but no reply. They looked around to see him buried in a pile off wood they helped him up and went to the aid room to see if they could treat themselves ty removed the glass from his palm and blood came pouring out they cleaned up and got out the ship

They left the ship and looked around. They heard squelching coming from their boots and it was a swamp although it wasn’t so deep it had only reached up to their ankles. They heard a loud banging noise coming from behind them. And the captain had already started to fix the ship Ty helped by passing him the tools he needed.  While Mariana was stood like someone had just smacked her across the face. They looked up to see a black rusty gate but behind it there stood a massive village. Although in the back of the village there was a large hill and at the top there was luxurious house. “Okay let’s get a move on. Now the ship is fixed we can carry on our journey”

“But look at that house can we stay a day or two “claimed Mariana in a babyish voice

“Fine if you must “agreed the captain

They opened the gate to a loud CREAK!

Mariana marched down the path way while Ty was sat on the ship holding on to the railings like if he let go he would die. The captain finally got Ty off and they caught up with Mariana. Although she wasn’t even half way up the trail. Soon enough they reached up to the tiny village houses, although they got tired after the crash landing so they went inside one of the houses. There was no one in the houses but all the light were flicked on. As soon as Ty opened the door he landed halfway up the path way he was confused he looked around for the captain and Mariana but they were no were to be seen . The sky turned purple and everything started to float he held on to a tree, he lured himself down do the door he held the handle and the door opened he forced himself in and he was at the mansion at the top of the hill and they were there. He explained what had happened they ran out immediately and set off to finish the ship.

As A Result Of…

As a result of…

As a result of rain- dirty puddles filled the pavement.

As a result of friends- giggles sprint through the air.

As a result of moon- the light shimmers and shines on the water.

As the result of school- parents try everything to wake the kids.

As a result of calm music- ears relax.

As a result of seaweed- kids believe they saw a mermaid.

As a result of laptops- people clicking and tapping on keys quickly.

As a result of glasses- everything becomes clear.

As a result of  fire-alarms- ringing continues and continues.

As a result of wind- leaves on trees rustle loudly.

It Could Be…

 It Could Be…

It doesn’t have to be the spectacular sniff of unwelcoming Scottish wind, sprinting fast as a full speed race car around Troon.

It doesn’t have to be the taste of a magnificent fried fritter, with salt sprinkled carefully , and if you would like, even a dribble of vinegar.

It could be the screechy squawk of an elder seagull, very proudly gliding slow as a turtle through earths roof, that was now grey and cloudy.

It could be the oddly satisfying sound the infuriated navy blue waves ,aggressively punishing the old,  grey bumpy stone wall.

Be curious as George, jumping and bouncing around all hyper, trying to find all different delightful things to start a small investigation on.

Just pay attention to the delicious smell of a swirly vanilla ice-cream ,with chocolatey chocolate sauce drizzled on fantastically, and a crumby flake pushed into the wonderful tongue-freezing food.
