A letter from Narnia by Pollie

Dear Pollie

Here in Narnia has been great, first I went sledding down a really steep hill and landed in a swamp. Then, I went on a walk and met a scary bear, I’ve never been there since. Oh I wish you was here it would be much more fun. Maybe one day you might be able to come round. Oh after that, I found a house which really stank so I’m also not going there again. It is so fun here you definitely need to convince your parents to let you come.

Best of wishes, From Lucy.

Creepy Crawly by Pollie

The Creepy Crawly is an extraordinary form of insect. Although, it can be very mysterious, it’s abilities have only just been found out by the scientific community. Would you recognise one? Are they dangerous?

It is like most insects as it has six legs 3 on each side. However, it doesn’t look much like one. The majority of the Creepy Crawly’s have venomous wings, which can be very very dangerous. Furthermore, some don’t have venom which are fine to have as a pet. Some can fly as fast as 80mph but some can’t. Many people believe that they are very rare because they are only found in North Africa.

People believe they can live up to 128 years old but some people believe they can only live to 20 years old. When disturbed, they will squirt venom. If trapped in small space, they can flatten body to squeeze out. Although, it can only stay flat for 10 minutes. Stay away from these creatures, as they are are very dangerous. The scientific community have found out and seen there teeth they say they are as sharp as a knife. They are very dangerous.

Stay Safe

Chapter 2 by Pollie

“My name is Liania Silver” she said glaring at Isla who felt a shiver down her spine. ” Welcome to my Emporium” Isla stared at her as she turned away.” “This is my book of Enchantments. You can touch anything in the shop BUT don’t touch the book!”

A moment later, Mrs Liania Silver disappeared with a twirl of her cloak and Isla stood alone in the Emporium. She realised she wasn’t dreaming. She had meant to keep looking around but there was something about the book that was tugging on her. She peered around the curtain and saw a long corridor of doors each leading somewhere else. Where do they lead to? She wondered.

Without thinking, she opened the book quietly. Every page contained a different wonder and surprise. There were pictures of places that she’s never even dreamed of going. There were drawings of forests, town, villages, shops, desserts, oceans, mountains and more. Every page was different.

The next thing Isla knew, there was a green pen in her hand and she was drawing a field with beautiful, white horses and cows eating grass. She drew the one she longed for the most.

“This way” said the Robin. Isla quickly closed the book and without turning back she followed the robin. The Robin flew quickly down an long corridor with many of doors. Then one appeared. Isla knew what to do. She opened the door and walked inside.

She stepped not into a room but into a field. She paused and heard cows mooing and horses neighing. Was this really happening or was it a dream? She stepped onto the field. The strangest thing was that it looked exactly like what she drew. Without turning back she ran towards the horses and gave them a big stroke.

The Enchanted Emporium By Pollie

The Enchanted Emporium Prologue

There are some places were no one ever entered. The enchanted Emporium was like that.

Even though you could smell sweet strawberries covered with Nutella or a steak with a side of chips. Even though you could reach out and touch a gold cat purring. Even though nut crackers woke up at Christmas and danced in the moonlight. Even though chocolate eggs glistened at Easter. Even though wind up toys did all your jobs.

But no one dared to enter. The doorway was gloomy and as dark as the midnight sky. No one dared until Isla.

Chapter 1

Isla had always wanted to see what was inside the Emporium, but her mother warned her not to go in. One Winter’s morning she was running down Yarrow Road when she spotted something unusual. For once the door was fully open. Without hesitation, she stepped in.

Everywhere she looked it was filled with wonders and surprises she couldn’t believe her eyes. She saw a golden cage of elegant robins tweeting as she walked past, several stuffed animals sat on the window sill and amazing clown fish doing funny tricks. She saw a rack of hand made jumpers the best they could buy. Soft ruby curtains covering the painted wall. Silver umbrellas glistening as they catch the sun. Yummy candy floss being made and a plate of chewy toffies sat lonely on the counter. Display of multicoloured clocks all telling a different time. But what caught her eyes the most was an leather bound book of wonders.

“I see you’ve found my book of wonders” whispered a voice. She quickly closed the book in surprise and looked up at the owner nervously. He was an old man with a robin perched on his shoulder. It tweeted at her disapprovingly.

I would take by Pollie

I would take the taste of
fresh doughnuts covered with Nutella,
warm cakes straight from the oven
hot chocolate covered with marshmallows.

I would take the smell of
fresh daisies being picked from a vast field,
hot brownies baking in the oven
lavender putting you to sleep.

I would take the touch of
a fluffy dogs coat thats just been washed,
a cats blanket covered with fur
a blue shell as rough as a painted wall.

I would take the sound of
strong waves crashing against the shore,
a cat purring waiting to be stroked
a music player playing my favourite music.

Behind the mysterious doors by Pollie

Go and open the blue door.
Maybe, you’ll see an eye staring back at you ,
grapes ready for being picked,
or a lonely whale swimming.

Go and open the green door.
Maybe, you’ll see a cactus waiting for someone to get pricked,
frogs leaping into the water,
or a lime tickling your tongue.

Go and open the pink door.
Maybe, you’ll see tulips growing in the the sunlight,
cherry blossom falling from the trees,
or flamingos walking towards the water.

Go and open the red door.
Maybe,  you’ll see poppies growing in deep fields,
blood dripping slowly,
or strawberries getting picked.

Go and open the black door.
Maybe, you’ll see coal making fire,
a bat flying rapidly,
or a cloak made of shadows.

In The Magical Emporium

In the room of questions ,

I couldn’t think properly.

In the room of mazes,

I didn’t know which way to go.

In the room of leaves,

the crunching ringed my ears.

In the room of clocks,

I didn’t know what time it where.

In the room of stars,

I danced in the moonlight.

In the room of tears,

I didn’t know what to do but cry.

In the room of books,

my imagination grew.

In the room of emptiness,
