Chapter 3

Lola sat thinking in the cold frosty cage, while Rachel worked really hard,looking for a way out.Rachel tried yelling for help

through the big,metal cage but not even a mouse heard her.Annoyed,Rachel tried opening the metal door with spiders crawling over it- Lola remained clueless.

Rachel said,“why can’t you just do something for once ”Lola just sat there staring at Rachel.As the sun began to rise,the light shone on the cage, making it warm.The light moved more away from the cage,it turned dark,and cold.The birds were chirping away from the dark shadows.

Suddenly,Rachel and Lola heard a noise, “BANG-”coming from upstairs.They went upstairs, as they were walking up , the floor creaked and there were cracks in the walls.As they continued up the stairs, they saw a figure in the distance. The figure was coming closer to Rachel and Lola,they both ran and Rachel couldn’t breathe.

Safe in the forest,Rachel made a fire and was talking to Lola about what their next steps were.Where was the secret clock?Where was that figure we needed for the skyship and where did he or she go?

Have you ever had a family day trip on skyships?In summer, you would have flown over the town,soaring high above the hills and over the houses. When you flew, there would have been blue skies, a soft breeze and that wonderful sense of freedom. When you flew, there would have  been the houses far below,gardens with their brightly coloured flowers. You probably got taken to one of the nearby fields and landed the ship

So that you could have a garden party. Travelling by skyship in the summer is like that.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to inform you about the upcoming events on the local calendar. There are some excellent events planned.

First, there will be a procession through the town, consisting of a wide variety of contributions. Anyone optimistic of the event must be careful not to get in the way or there might be an unmanageable quarrel between the guests attending.  The mayor will judge the best baby competition. While the competition proceeds, you can go to the local fish and chips shop and have something to eat.

After that, there will be a dance display in the town square. If you are watching, please stand back so you do not get in the way. The market will be open all afternoon.

Finally, the firework display will be held in Prince’s Park at exactly six. We hope you all have a splendid time.

Slowly I bent down, there it was. The black decorated box. It has and lock and all I had to do was find the code. I was going to find it! Determined as ever I skipped out of the door full of confidence. First I checked the town, then the school. I could find anything. The thought in my head was telling me to give up but nothing could stop me. Finally, after checking over 10 places I checked the town hall. There it was! The code!

Polly’s Magic Shell

Long, long ago there was a poor girl called Polly who lived next to the beach.  She had a strange, little cottage with a rusty bike but she was happy. Early one morning, Polly went for a walk to collect shells. She collected flat shells, curved shells and thin shells.

Suddenly, Polly found the most beautiful shell she had ever seen, lying next to a rock pool! Slowly, Polly bent down to pick up the shell, which was glistening in the sun. To her amazement the shell spoke.

“I will grant you two wishes so choose wisely!” said the magnificent shell.

Harry had been walking down the beach racking his brain on the mind-boggling mystery he had been thinking about all winter. He knew three things: the kidnapper was probably torturing the missing girl at this very moment; it was up to him and his detective skills to solve the mystery; and that she was alone, probably petrified for her life. Knowing that sent shivers down Harry’s back.  An eerie fog was crawling over the sea like a spider on its web (this didn’t make him feel any better). He had no idea where to find the missing girl…she could be anywhere. Harry was having doubts. But the young detective loved a good mystery, and this was his hardest one yet.
