AS soon as excited face Mr Hardy skipped into class seven, the familiar room immediately appeared to turn dark.He was thin with an happiness rather like a happy butter fly.

Chapter 3

During the middle of the night, Buttercup was sobbing in the middle of the room. Saffy was pacing around the room trying to think of an idea. They shouted out of the window, “Help me!” but they were not loud enough. Saffy did not give up but Buttercup wasn’t so positive. They tried to lift up the floorboards but none of them were opening and Saffy was pushing on the walls.

Every so often, Saffy got a bit angry at Buttercup because she was just sitting on the floor. She was slowly losing hope in everything. Saffy muttered, “Don’t lose hope we will get out of here.” Angrily walking up and down. Saffy tripped over a loose brick on the floor.

Frustratedly, Saffy shouted, “Why don’t you just help? I can’t do it by myself!” but all Buttercup did was shrug her shoulders.

“There is no point in trying because we are never going to get out!

We are trapped for life!” Buttercup muttered.

Just when Saffy was falling asleep, she heard footsteps echoing from the roof. She looked through the tiny window but all she could see was amber eyes staring back at her. Lilly barked sleepily, “Get up here and give me some wind ups!” Saffy reached out to give her some wind up.

When Lily was full of wind ups, she opened her little mouth and dropped a small key into Saffy’s hand, “It is time to escape.”

Gently, Saffy turned the key in the door and it opened. They tiptoed out of the room and hid behind walls. They got to the back door and got outside in the back garden. They sprinted to a forest in the middle of the park and hid.

Chapter 3

During the night, Robert was quietly looking at the floor, stamping his feet all over the attic floor, sobbing loudly as the evil Joe came up to the attic floor. Robert was hiding in the closet and he opened the small window .

Crawling out, he left the door open then he came out of the closet and ran out and locked the door with a chair but little did he know that he left the crowbar and then he unlocked the door running as fast as lightning bolts but he was too late to catch the thief then he said to Malcolm, “I have some good news and bad news. The good news is I have found the key. The bad news is he is coming after us.”

Every couple of minutes, Malcolm turned and snapped at Joe. Evil Joe was sleeping; they were both locked in the same room.

Jerking awake at Malcolm’s shouting, Evil Joe stared at Malcolm and said, “You just woke me UP! You are going to regret waking me up, come with me!”

Joe walked sadly to the 3rd floor Malcolm went to the 3rd floor.

“I’m gonna find a way out!” shouted Malcolm.

Just as Malcolm was falling asleep, he heard a big bang downstairs. Going downstairs to investigate if someone broke in. Malcolm was running, in a rush because a robber was running after him. Malcolm quickly hid behind the basement door. It was too dark and he couldn’t find the light so he had to get a weapon to defend himself. Then Malcolm’s friend Christie came down to the basement to distract him. Malcolm came from behind the door and went right behind him and exclaimed, “Wow we got him!” He went to check who the person was and who he was working for. Looking in his wallet, Malcolm saw that he was working for NASA.

“We need to lock all the doors and windows,” Malcolm said, “and even the basement door.” But still more people were in the house. Then he had to hide on top of the ladder jumping down knocking one out it was a two on one and then Christie had to knock him out with a paint can so now if there is three were gonna have to get robert and there we are he rang robert saying come to the basement i need your help”

Hesitantly, he inserted the rusted key into the door. Malcolm rushed past the dead bodies; they can see even more vans pull into the drive.

Chapter 3

Later that night, Kayutn was sobbing into his hands quietly in the corner whilst he stared at the floor. However, Jason was thinking carefully about how to make a plan to escape.

Jason walked to the window opening the window shouting at the top of his lungs but nobody heard him. Trying to budge the door but it did not move. He searched on the floor to see if any floorboards were loose but he couldn’t find one.

Every so often, Jason bugged Kayutn, “Why aren’t you helping me? If you are that sad we are trapped you should try helping?”

However, Kayutn just sat there awkwardly looking down at her feet. Jason carefully walked around the basement knocking on the walls to see if she could get out. In the end Jason looked to his left and he saw a secret door. He crawled over to the door, “Kayutn can I have your hair clip?”

“Yes you can,” exclaimed Kayutn. Kayutn threw her hair clip to Jason, he quickly grabbed the hair clip and tried to unlock the door but it did not budge!

Angrily, Jason shouted, “Why can’t you just help me?”

Kayutn shrugged, “I am tired of being in this awful basement, I am starving over here!”

“But you haven’t even tried helping me!” Jason shrugged exasperated, standing with his hands on his head, his ears were steaming.

Just as Jason was about to fall asleep, he heard a strange knocking noise on the tiny window. He gently opened his eyes and looked out of the window. As soon as he looked out the window he saw Arden, the mechanimal, sleepily pawing at the window. “I need some wind ups and I can help you!” Jason slowly reached out the window and wound up Arden.

As soon as Jason had wound up Arden he opened his paw and dropped a rusty, old key into the palm of Jason’s hand. “It’s time to get out of this stinky basement!”

Quickly, Jason woke up Kayutn, “We are free!”

“What do you mean?” Kayutn whispered confusedly.

“I have the key!” Jason ran over to the basement door and quickly turned the key in the lock. It felt like it wasn’t going to move but the door slowly creaked open. Kayutn and Jason sprinted out the door, Arden led the way outside the house and jumped over the brick wall.

Chapter 3

In the night, Tom was sitting against the wall in a mood, crying on the floor whilst Jack was walking back and forth trying to come up with a plan.

Jack circled around the room where there was a window that was open. So he put his head out of the window and checked to see if anyone could help them get out the attic but it was too far for anyone to hear them. Jack looked for a loose floorboard but he couldn’t find one either.

With every minute passing by, Tom was on the floor crying and Jack said, “Why aren’t you helping me instead of sitting on the floor? You could be helping right now but no, you’re just on the floor crying.”

Even though he heard Tom, he just kept sitting on the floor with a gloomy face. In the end it was only Jack and the trap door in the attic because Tom was on the floor.

Angrilly, Jack took out his anger and shouted at Tom, “I can’t do this by myself so maybe you can actually help me.”

“It isn’t any good. We’re trapped here forever. We’re never ever going to get out of the attic. Are you dumb?”

“But you haven’t tried yet so maybe you could help!” shouted Jack, standing with disappointed eyes and hands by his waist.

Just as Jack and Tom were about to close their eyes, they heard a loud thump on the ground. They slowly got up and looked out of the window. Looking back at them they saw Trage’s long snake body. Excitedly, Trage hissed, “Come on, I’m coming to help and you need to give me some wind ups!”

As soon as Trage was full of energy and laughter, he opened his tiny mouth and dropped an old, rusty key into Jack’s hand and Trage whispered, “It’s time to get out of here.”

Jack opened the trap door with the key. Jack put his head through the trap door and looked left and right and then said to Tom, “The cost is clear, let’s get out of here!”

Jack and Tom carefully got down and slowly walked down the stairs. They looked around and sawn the uncle eating and drinking in the living room. The living room was on the right so they went to the left where the back door was, so they sneakily and quietly crawled to the back door and then they opened the back door slowly and carefully crawled out and went to the side of the house. They kept on clawing until they were sure the uncle could not see them. They ran as quickly as they could and Trage slithered across the ground beside them.

Chapter 3

“We will never get out of here! How long is this going to be? Uhhh,” said  Zack with a miserable face. But Chloe searched and searched and she found a nail on the floor. She tried to put it in the lock but it was no use.

She said, “Why are you not helping me? I am trying and you are doing nothing!”

But Zacks said, “There’s no point in even doing it, we are never going to get out, I gave up ages ago!”

Chloe said, “Let’s just stop arguing, let’s just go to sleep.”

Just as they were falling asleep, Chloe heard a strange knock and she did not know who it was. So she went to look out her window and she saw Ronnie, her mechanimal dog. It was the best thing ever. She tried to wake up Zack. He woke up but with a miserable face on him he replied, “What do you want?”

Chloe said, “We are going to get out of here because Ronnie is outside.”

Ronnie said in a sleepy voice, “Please can you give me some tocks please?”

But when Ronnie got some windups, she started to act differently and said, “I have got something,” and dropped a small, old key in the palm of her hand and said, “It is time to hurry!”

So Chloe hurried and turned the key but it did not work. She tried a second time with tears down her face and finally it was like freedom. But when it opened it led to the living room. There was no one there so you could shout and it could echo three times. All the lights were shattered but Chloe and Zack, without hesitation, hurried and charged across the fields and made it to a well.

Chapter 3

All evening, James sat with his back against the wall staring at the flickering lights. However, Rob rummaged through the cupboards looking for the key. Rob looked at the boarded up

windows and with all his might pulled them but they wouldn’t

budge.

“Why are you sitting on the floor and not helping me?” Rob shouted angrily at James.

“Hey, it’s not me that got us locked in!” replied James.

Rob ran over to the window and started pulling on the boards.

“Rob, what are you doing?”

“I’m trying to get us out of here,” shouted Rob

“I’m sick of your nonsense!” James snapped back.

Right at that moment, Rob could hear careful tapping on the large boarded up windows. As he looked at the windows he

Saw roger. “Please can you get up and give me some wind ups?” Rob opened the window as fast as a flash, trying not to

Make any sound.

Roger opened his beak and pecked the rusty, old key towards Rob. Roger squeaked, “It’s your time to shine, we’ve got to go!”

Gently, Rob poked the key through the lock and twisted it. The lock fell off the door handle and the door slowly slid open. Rob and James carefully crawled down the stairs heading towards the door that led to freedom. They ran as quick as a flash and dashed towards the hills. Roger gracefully flew in the lead, watching out for any enemies.

Chapter 3 – The Escape

During the night, Noah was quietly sobbing into his hands, while he stared at the coal bunker floor. While he was crying, Luke found a hammer and tried to break the window but he realized it was broken…

Then panicking he tried breaking the door open. He tried digging then demolishing the wall, trying to craft something to demolish the window.

But one idea came to mind…

Firstly, he got the parts of the broken hammer. Secondly, he found a toolbox and an axe. Finally, he crafted all the materials into a makeshift hammer.

“YOU PIECE OF JUNK!” exclaimed Luke.

“WHAT DID I DO!” shouted Noah.

“I DO EVERYTHING!” recklessly screamed Luke.

While they were arguing, Luke could have broken the window and got away. They gave up on arguing and tried to make their own ladder but the makeshift ladder was not strong enough. So he tried to unlock the door to get something stronger. Luke tries to break the door with the makeshift hammer while Noah shouts, “It’s not going to work you nasty person!”

Luke shouts back, “You are not even doing anything!”

Both of them felt sleepy, so Luke fell asleep but Noah couldn’t. Until a scratching noise came from the window and both startled, looked out the window and saw Oliver meowing, “Give me some wind ups.”

Oliver dropped the key into Noah’s sweaty hand and opened the door. The children and mechanimal slipped out of the attic and hid behind some shelves covered in boxes. Auntie May went about her routine in her luxurious bedroom and Noah and Luke made a run for it. Now it was their time to escape.

Chapter 3

Furiously, Taylor screamed, “Why can’t you just help?”

“It’s no use, we’re trapped. I hate your  mum’s old co-worker,” said  Zoe.

“Yes, but you are not even trying to get out,” said Taylor with her arms crossed.

Just as Zoe was falling asleep, she heard a soft knock on the window. Looking out, she saw Betty’s bright blue eyes. She quickly opened the window, “Let me in, I need more wind ups,” purred Betty. Zoe reached her arm out of the window and gave her some wind ups using the key between her shoulder blades.

When Betty had more wind ups, she opened her small mouth and dropped an old, brown key.  Zoe quickly opened her hands. “I want out of here,” said Zoe .

Softly, Zoe turned the key but it seemed to not work until there was a click and the door opened with a creak. “We’re free! We’re free!” said Zoe excitedly as the girls ran out the door and onto the field of grass without hesitation. They ran all the way across to the old stone wall. Betty leading the way.

Chapter 3

The door locked behind them. They were stuck. Dottie was annoyed at Bob because he wasn’t helping Dottie find an escape route. There might be a trap door somewhere. There might be holes in a door or wall.

Angrily, Dottie spun around and said, “Bob! Stop being annoying and help, now!”

“Fine,” said Bob.

Just as Dottie was about to go to sleep, she heard a soft knock from the tiny window. She opened her eyes and gazed outside. Looking back at her she saw Clockeye’s pretty eyes. Sleepily, Clockeye barked, “Come on! Give me some wind up will you?”

When Clockeye was charged up, she spat out a key. “Time to get out of this place.” Slowly, Dottie turned and looked at the whole key then looked at the door and saw a small hole for the key to open the door. The door opened and they ran up the steep grassy hill that had beautiful flowers away from the house and towards freedom.
