Chapter 3 – The Escape

During the night, Noah was quietly sobbing into his hands, while he stared at the coal bunker floor. While he was crying, Luke found a hammer and tried to break the window but he realized it was broken…

Then panicking he tried breaking the door open. He tried digging then demolishing the wall, trying to craft something to demolish the window.

But one idea came to mind…

Firstly, he got the parts of the broken hammer. Secondly, he found a toolbox and an axe. Finally, he crafted all the materials into a makeshift hammer.

“YOU PIECE OF JUNK!” exclaimed Luke.

“WHAT DID I DO!” shouted Noah.

“I DO EVERYTHING!” recklessly screamed Luke.

While they were arguing, Luke could have broken the window and got away. They gave up on arguing and tried to make their own ladder but the makeshift ladder was not strong enough. So he tried to unlock the door to get something stronger. Luke tries to break the door with the makeshift hammer while Noah shouts, “It’s not going to work you nasty person!”

Luke shouts back, “You are not even doing anything!”

Both of them felt sleepy, so Luke fell asleep but Noah couldn’t. Until a scratching noise came from the window and both startled, looked out the window and saw Oliver meowing, “Give me some wind ups.”

Oliver dropped the key into Noah’s sweaty hand and opened the door. The children and mechanimal slipped out of the attic and hid behind some shelves covered in boxes. Auntie May went about her routine in her luxurious bedroom and Noah and Luke made a run for it. Now it was their time to escape.
