THE STARSHIP ADVENTURE
BY RONNIE O’SHEA
Max gripped the railings of the ship tightly, he was petrified at the thought of being over 400,000 metres up in the sky. Helen (his sister) was so excited because she had never been 400,000 metres up in the clouds and the dark night. They were supposed to be flying over Margate but the raging storm had blown them off course. Suddenly, the ship shuddered. What was it? But about 3.6 seconds later they knew what it was. Dragons. A colossal tsunami of fire came flying at them, “HARD PORT!!” yelled captain O’Shea and the ship swerved violently to the left, “We are going to be in for a bumpy ride!” and they disappeared into the clouds below.
‘I think we lost them,’ said Captain O’Shea, they were all back inside now and the sun rose over the clouds like a giant golden circle. The starship (Star Holder) was drifting through the fluffy, white clouds. As Max stared around at the wonders that met his eyes, there were four-poster beds, a fridge that had unlimited food and drink, a TV that had any channel on it and a bathtub that had the perfect temperature water. ‘LAND AHOY!’ bellowed O’Shea. Ten minutes later, they had landed on a beautiful meadow with luscious, emerald green grass, crystal clear waters, golden sands and blue skies. ‘OH MY GOSH!’ screamed Helen and Max replied, ‘This is awesome!’
‘Time to stretch an old man’s legs,’ said Captain O’Shea ’All that sitting down has made me get cramp’.
