Amy And The Secret Emporium:

Amy has always been an inquisitive explorer, disobeying her mother’s advice to think twice. One sunny Sunday, Amy went out on her nice pink bike when she happened to stumble across a  store that had always been shut. According to rumors, the owner vanished many years ago, and nobody has dared to go inside the building since. Amy didn’t really believe the people that witnessed the noises and laughter coming from within, so she entered without thinking.

She looked in  amazement at things she wanted to investigate everywhere she turned. She first noticed shredded snake skin all over, but later discovered starved fish and gorgeous animals in rotten glass jars. Sad-looking dolls and toys that were creepy. Mannequins and several dead birds lay on the ground, almost shivering. Ripped books with stickers all over them, tooth-growing toothbrushes, combs and brushes for hair growth, and many more. But what interested Amy the most, was a golden book that said, ‘The Secret Emporium.’

“I see you’ve got my book, ” said a nice, beautiful lady with a cute cat in her arms. She had beautiful makeup on and scent that followed her everywhere she stepped. It looked as though she had been renovating the place.

The Ear Jammer:

The Ear Jammer is mainly known for its patterns and its ability to squeeze into peoples ears and to inject rare, poisonous venom -that causes serious injuries and sometimes death.

The Ear Jammers have very unique and interesting patterns all over, they adapt these from their floral environment. They all have dark pupils and big colorful wings that can fly up to 390 km/h.

The Ear Jammer has a big tail that is full of poisonous venom and if you are even 1 meter away and it leaks its poison it can get to you. It sheds its scales every week so if you find its skin run!!!

Amy And The Secret Emporium (CHAPTER 4)

Amy continuously ran in the opposite direction of the house, until she tripped on something very sharp on the ground that was hidden by the smooth golden sand. She decided to investigate, so she grabbed a shovel from the garden and began digging. After some time, she found a door, a rather strange door. She located it and blew the extra sand away, when she discovered the floral door laying on the ground.

She grabbed the door handle and pulled as hard as she could, but no matter how hard she tried, it didn’t budge an inch. After a while, she discovered an axe lying on the ground and went to retrieve it, hitting it so hard that the birds flew away and the trees shook. She kicked and kicked, but nothing happened; it was as if something was blocking it. She took a break and returned that afternoon, and as she grasped on, it opened. She walked down the long staircase and was back in the Emporium, where Ms Charlotte was waiting. But they stood there like nothing happened.

Embarrassed, Amy silently stepped back, Ms Charlotte stared deep into Amy’s eyes and said, “There you are I was looking all over for you, did you enjoy the experience of being in your drawing?” In shock Amy stood speechless, when Ms Charlotte said, “You always need to be careful when you draw in a book. Especially a book that is from the Emporium.”

In tears Amy said, “Yes Ms Charlotte.”

“Now don’t cry my dear, just ask before you do anything in the Emporium.” Amy nodded her head and left.

Amy stepped out into the street and turned back round half way up the street to see if they were open tomorrow. But Ms Charlotte Holmes and the Emporium had disappeared into thin air, and as if it had never existed. She thought to herself maybe tomorrow, maybe tomorrow it will reappear.

Amy And The Secret Emporium

“Hello dear, my name is Charlotte Holmes,” she said, staring at Amy. “This is my shop. I am renovating it. Would you like to look around?”

Amy was lost for words so she just nodded silently. She knew she shouldn’t have entered so she remained silent.  “Oh no, I’m running late, you’re free to look around. But DO NOT touch my Book of Wonders,” she said in a rush.

Some minutes later, she drew something and entered a room, but as Amy followed the door it disappeared. As she was looking around she found Ms Charlotte’s Book of Wonders. As Amy flicked through the pages and found several drawings. A moment later, she found herself drawing a beach and a sunset, the place she longed to be, but in the background there was a beautiful, modern mansion. The house Amy always dreamt of.

In a blink of an eye, Amy was in her own drawing, it was so relaxing and quiet as no-one was there except her. The waves were swooshing in the pretty sunset and Amy was laying down whilst drinking a mango and coconut drink, but at the same time it was strange, as though she didn’t belong in the real world anymore. Either way she loved it. She was an orphan, no-one liked her and she got bullied a lot anyway in the real world.

Her heart raced, as she thought about what Ms Charlotte had said. But the house had everything she needed: two bedrooms; a living room with a comfy sofa and TV; an inviting fireplace; a kitchen with cups and plates; plenty of food growing; a filter so she can get water from the sea and make it fresh and even a bathroom.

A moment later, she heard a noise. So she went to check what it was. To my surprise it was a big, dark, gloomy shadow with razor sharp teeth, a lot of fur and seemed like it was heading towards me. She raced out the house and ran unstoppably. But she stopped when she heard a familiar sound purring, “Wait don’t go!”

If I were summoned to to create a treasure I would take:

If I were summoned

To create a treasure

I would take:

The sound of,

Birds chirping humbly,

Bees buzzing for honey,

And a royal plane landing.

The touch of,

Silky material of my party dress,

The sun burning my skin until bright red,

And the green, prickly grass poked me as I lay.

The smell of,

A mug of coffee ready to be served,

The hot pizza in the picnic basket,

And the ice cream in the freezer waiting to be licked.

The taste of,

The warm, spicy,  freshly seasoned biryani,

The vanilla and chocolate ice cream, karate kicking

My taste buds, And the most hardest, reddest and sweetest

Apple ever grown.

The sight of,

The shimmering, beautiful moon and

stars in the night sky,

The cutest cat playing with strings,

And my baby sister is taking her first steps.

Letter home.

Dear Mum,

Thanks for the apple, it really filled me the whole ride.10 eternities later,we arrived at a village called Shalford. It was very quiet and peaceful, not like Leeds were there is bombs and guns shooting at windows. There was a crowd of people staring at us like we robbed a bank. After a while a lot of people got picked, but me and brother Brian were last. Then a nice lady with bright smile came up to us and asked if we were siblings and we said yes, then a miracle she chose both of us.I was so happy.

She lives in a big house, where there is a humongous farm right beside it.She even has a daughter named Lila,we are best friends, we play jump rope everyday. We are like twin sisters. The lady is called Mrs Berry, she has a husband called Mr Berry too.The first thing we did was take a bath in a tin bath it was massive. The last time we saw each other was when I was 8,but now i’m nine and I had the best birthday ever. But you weren’t there so it was kind of sad.

Me and Lila share a room. We have 2 single beds,2 wardrobes and basically, everything I have she has too.Today for dinner we had chicken pasta with orange squash, and to finish it off we had strawberries and apple slices.Brian has his own room, because ”he’s bigger” so not fair.We go to the farm and collect the chickens eggs,it’s so worth it because we have boiled egg for breakfast.

You will never guess but we are going to go into the attic to look for stuff. It was so fun.The first thing we found was a Christmas tree then an old lamp,Mr and Mrs Berry wedding outfits, toys, clothes and much, much more.We took some stuff downstairs and thought if we could use it again, and of course we could use the toys again and clothes because they were so pretty!

Shalford is a very windy place,so at first it was freezing but now I’m kind of getting used to it.The house has 4 rooms 1 for Brian,1 for Mr and Mrs Berry,1 for me and Lila and one spare room.In the back garden there is a field where we have fresh air everyday after lunch but we have ask Mrs Berry or Mr Berry first.

Me and Lila go to the same school,Brian has started high school. The school bus driver is very nice. He got me some funny pencils for my birthday. The only friend I had in school was Lila, but now I have so many.I do miss Gabby,I heard she went to a different village, she was my best friend.

I really do miss you,and I hope you and dad are doing well. Please write back.

Lots of wishes ~Lilly~.

Riley’s secret discovery.

Riley was so furious and irritated that she had to leave home and start a whole new life, even with a different family as well. Riley  was only 9 when she left and didn’t know what was happening until she overheard her family and heard various bombs getting closer and closer. The day after, she was told she is going to go to a new family, which were caring, nice and the place they live in was way more calmer than were we are right now, once she heard this she broke into tears and ran to her room. She got a suitcase and started packing her ration book,a few toys, clothes, gas mask and more boring things.

Riley absolutely loved her old school, she had so many friends and she was really focused in class too,the teachers loved her.She hates her new school, but until the second day of school she has tons of new friends and teachers like her as well, she’s passing all her tests too.At home Mrs & Mr Berry are taking care of her, they absolutely adore her and she adores them to,but not as much as her mother though.Mrs Berry is literally a professional at cooking, especially her chicken lasagne. When I got down I was surprised at how crispy and golden, brown the chicken looked,I was dribbling.

Dinner was over, and Riley was getting bored. Then she was about to ask Mrs Berry to watch telly with her as Mr Berry was at work, but the door slammed shut. She ran back up and went to her room window, she went to the garden shed which was massive. After that she did it every time since ,it was very weird.Outside, thunder crashed and the wind blew the bins away.Inside,my nostrils were filled the scent of homemade turkey, and the cosiness filled my heart with love and joy.

After a couple of days,Riley had enough. This time, she followed her into the shed. She cried “Mia,Mia your food is here!” and a bright light shone the whole shed. Then she said ”Riley I know you’re here!” I was surprised that even though my hiding place was nice,I still crawled out of my hiding place.“This is Mia,my very own fairy who gives unlimited wishes. She’s yours too.”as she introduced my jaw dropped.

In the room of …

In the room of thick, slithery snow,

I sledged on my super sledge with my sister,

In the room of fear,

I hid under blankets during a fierce storm

Whilst the trees shivered and cried,

In the room of fear,

I admire the view as my sister begins to panic,

In the room of hatred,

I cry uncontrollably in the school bathroom,

Outside the room of hatred the rainbow danced with joy,

In the room of summer,

The sun boiled the ocean like my mum

Boiled my egg on Sunday morning,

In the room of confusion,

I peered out the window to see the commotion

Of the rat chasing the cat and the dog

Taking its owner for a walk in the fog.

Chapter 1-3

Rose Snuggles her teddy bear in calmness, as Mia says her goodbye. Rose crept out of the shed and locked it up. Once she got inside, she changed into her pajamas and went to sleep. Outside, the wind was hustling and bustling in the air. Inside, the warm air filled the house and caused Rose to have lovely dreams. Rose terribly missed her mum and the apple pie she used to bake every Saturday, but she is really getting used to her new home, and how warm is gets at night, no bombs or guns just silence. The gray full moon is disappearing and the bright scorching sun is appearing.

In the evening, Rose asked Mrs Berry if she could check on Mia, and maybe play for a little bit. Mrs Berry agreed, so she gathered her things and went. Once she got there, Mia was reading a book. The minute she saw Rose she jumped up in excitement. Sometimes they play board games, or even read books together. They are overcome with joy when they see each other. They always get yummy and scrumptious foods and drinks for each other, it’s just like a sleepover. But I do have to go to bed on the weekdays, so I go back to the house early, however on weekends we get to have sleepovers. Every night Rose would get worried about someone discovering Mia,and then taking her and locking her up. What if they even use her for wishes, or they put her in the museum, I thought, unstoppably.

My worries came true! One gloomy evening, I invited my most trusted friend, Gracie, to my house. After Lunch, we went to the bug-filled back garden to play. First we played hide and seek and it was my turn to seek, whilst I was counting I heard the shed open. I shrieked and turned around to Grace gaping at Mia in shockness. My secret was blown, but little did I know Grace is a trustworthy person and she keeps her promises whether you like it or not. We all went in the shed and I  explained everything, but I really didn’t need to, she just promised that “I swear on my whole family I won’t tell anyone”,so that was that.I locked the shed and went inside with Grace, Mrs Berry and Mr Berry were sipping on some coffee. I told them that Grace knew the secret and they were furious. But then Grace promised she would never tell anyone, and then they calmed down and trusted her. After a while,Grace had to go home. Some minutes passed, and her parents called saying they were travelling due to their work. So Grace could stay for a week or two, I was happier than ever.
