to watch the never ending sunset of colours.

A day later, the crew came back, Captain Marsh was surprised at first when she saw sapphire but then she got use to her after a minute. After that, the crew fixed the balloon and we were hidden in the midnight sky ( that is why the ship is called Midnight Gazer because it blends in with the midnight).

Zephyr stood on the deck with Sapphire next to her wandering if she would even see her family again. Sam came over and joined in. He remined her about the adventures they have had together.

At that moment, hey all heard something, “Duck!” Shouted Sam,
Something was crawling up the side of the ship Sam took a peek and ducked back down. “Get up!” Said Captain Marsh “That is the supply airship!” “Now get to bed before you think there is a dragon!”

After 5 minutes they went to bed, dreaming of, cat like creatures, airship and abounded docks, “This is never the end!” they whispered “in to the great beyond!”

Happily, the kids ran through the maze of boats, chasing ‘the thing’. It was impossibly fast, and it could go through anything, even turn invisible. Zephyr picked up her speed and leapt on to the creature, everyone stopped, then the cat like creature disappeared with Zephyr still holding on to it, “Zephyr!” Sam called “I am over here!” replied a dull voice. Sam ran into the nearest building to see the creature was on top of Zephyr! Sam grabbed a stick, did a roly-poly and ran towards her. But Zephyr said “Stop, I am trying to do something here.” Sam stops and stares as the creature turns red and snarls at him. After a while, Zephyr calms down and so does the creature, turning back blue and stares at all this kids. After a while the creature became friends with the child crew. They all walked back to the Midnight Gazer. I hope Captain Marsh will not mind, wondered Zephyr. They went back on to the deck and acted like they had just not found an amazing creature, just like they never left the deck. Sapphire (the creature) stared up at Zephyr waiting and waiting…

Midnight Gazer

Suddenly, there was a bang, as the ground got closer and closer. We were heading towards a line of mountains! Captain Marsh wrestled with the wheel, Zephyr looked over the side to find we were going down! In the distance, Captain Marsh spotted an ancient looking dock and steered the Midnight Gazer towards it. There was a sickening bang and the crew all went silent.

Sam came running out from under the deck shouting, ” What’s going on?!” No one noticed as they watched Zephyr fend off a bird like creature that was nibbling on the balloon. She grabbed and stick, jumped on the deck and waved her weapon around. But it was too late, there was no air left in the balloon.

Zephyr looked around to see a line of mossy old boats, a statue of an elder from long ago and a huge mossy rotting building. The mountains surrounded us.

The wind blew and the thunder roared as the children found them selves alone, sitting on the deck, waiting and waiting. The children were not aloud to leave the deck. But not all children follow the rules!

There was a noise and a shuffle.
“What was that?!” exclaimed Zephyr,
“I say we follow it!” said another girl.
