The Snappermander

The Snappermander is a magnificent creature, its skin rough and jagged ,a sickly green colour.  Its eyes soulless statue still, staring beyond the never ending abyss. With sharp, pointed horns and a long bearded neck And a jaw that can open up to 2 metres. With ears that twist to every sound and claws shaped like daggers digging into the ground this creature is one you wouldn’t like to meet. Even though this animal seems big and scary it’s quite small, only 50cm if it stands up right, and 70 cm long. Because of its large jaw, many people think it can swallow people in a single gulp. But they are wrong. They have very small intestines and can only eat small reptiles and bugs.

They are normally found cooling off in the shade of a covering cave, or basking up in the sun. They like a mix of temperatures and always are on the move, they never stay in one place for more than 3 days because of the large predators that hunt them.( which include lions, tigers and birds)/when they rest however they cover their whole body in sand, leaves or dirt and leave their head slightly sticking out.

They are under threat because of mankind thinking they are hostile. Because of this, they are being killed to (help keep everyone safe) but in fact it’s just making it worse as these animals are pest cleaners and eat little bugs and rats infesting your home. We need to inform people how helpful these creatures are and put an end to people assuming wrong of these fine specimens.

The River, Robin.

On Monday, I tasted a spark from a fiery flame,

casted deep down

in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean.

On Tuesday, I felt the soft quilt of a quale

and the smooth skin of a whale.

On Wednesday, I heard the roar of a rabid reptile,

The sound as raspy as rocks.

On Thursday, I found a solid, silver, spindle

So cold to touch my hands felt like ice.

On Friday, I watched a river, riding,  robin

Soar above the glistening morning water.

On Saturday, I noticed the groaning grunting road

 collapse

under a careless soul.

On Sunday, I dreamed about the sky falling beneath me

As i forever grow smaller

In an endless loop.

The Golden Box

As Lily placed foot on the doormat chills ran through her spine, “This is it…” she sighed reaching into her coat pocket for the key.Once she found it, she shimmied it into place and twisted violently.

… CRACK… The key was so old that it broke. “Not a problem,” she thought, wading through the thick snow to the back of the house.

She kicked away the snow and found herself looking at what used to be a shed, what was now a pile of wood planks and shattered glass.

She carefully swept some of the debris away and begun searching for something.

“Where is it..” she muttered under her cold breath, she finally found it after 30 minutes of searching. What she laid her eyes on whas a trap door, more specifically, the trap door.

As she cautiously crept down the rotten wobbly stairs she lost ballance on one of the steps as it broke and came tumbling to the ground.

A while later her consciousness came back, the only thing left was a mild headache.

On all fours, she crawled through the small tunnel leading under the house. With cobwebs covering her face she found herself laying under the other side of a door with a smooth twist she opened the door with a bang dust flying left right and centre.

Walking through the cold abandoned house, she spotted a note on the dust covered dining table. For some reason not a single speck of dust lying on it.

Putting it aside she walked up the creaking stars and walked across the long hallway trying to remember which room was hers she walked to the last door on the left. Walking in she found her shelf covered with untouched books and piles of plates.

Reaching into her jacket pocket she held the note in her two hands. For Miss Lily, she read as she pried open the flap, what she saw surprised her even more. It was directions to a hidden box in her room… as she made her way around she set her foot on an oddly loose floor board.

Reaching down, she pulled and wiggled at the board. After a few tries it opened and what she saw was a shimmering gold box…

The Cocoacat

The CocoaCat is a Wonderful creature. It lives up in towering trees building nests crafted from twigs and twine weaved together like a blanket.

Their appearance is most peculiar, their eyes black as the midnight sky and their velvet fur brown as hot-chocolate. Their wings Luxurious angelic-white, covered in soft, smooth feathers.

Usually they would run or walk for their choice of travel, but. If they are in danger, They would spread their heavenly wings and soar through the sky at speeds of 50mph. Most people believe that the reason they cant fly for long is because it would starve them.

You would imagine an animal like this to be an apex predator, but no. They are a sweet creature that rarely ever attacks. Knowing this, predators use this to their advantage and hunt them.

The cocoacats diet consists of a mix of smaller prey, e.g. mice rats, rodents. Or harvest blossom berrier and valley orchids.

Surprisingly this animal has to face a lot of challenges in life.Their existence is always in danger from the moment they were born, struggling and fighting for food is a large part of the circle in life. Only the fittest will survive.

The Valley Orchid

  The Valley Orchid

The Valley Orchid’s long sturdy stem

shines brightly like a car’s beaming headlights at night,

blinding the sights of any unsuspecting creatures.

They are found in

deep, dense

 forests hidden under colossal mushrooms.

Not to be confused with the buttercup bells,

which also lurk under large mushrooms,

 and are easily identified

 by their blasting yellow petals.

Its roots are like diving daggers

driving into the ground like a chainsaw

drilling into a thick withered weeping willow and

its long twig-like branches

grasp and pull on trees and strangle it

until it decays and cripples to the ground.

But it’s rigged petals are shaped like crying raindrops

moaning hysterically luring you to it as it clings

onto its neck and suffocates its prey.

Its leaves are a jagged rough texture,

so sharp it can easily slice through any substance.

But it’s manipulative sickly green colour

Is traumatising to stare at.

I met a Woman of despair.

I met a girl called Forest, hey eyes as green as a bucket of green acid,

Yet as sweet as a leaf, she crouched and clasped a handful of freshly cut grass.

I met a man called Tiger, his voice gruff as a machine and his arms strong as a muddy weathered forklift.

I met a woman of Despair, her eyes weeping blue with dark purple bags hanging under her desperate eyes.

I met a man of Anger, his face red full of rage and his hands clenched tightly.

I met a boy of birds, his hair thin and full of splintered sticks and furry feathers, his eyes grey as a storm, but as kind as a blue-tit.
