The Fight

Darcy flung open the classroom door and slumped into an empty plastic chair. Mr Snake glared at her through the corner of his eye and carried on ranting about Decimals. Her face scrunched up and she rolled her eyes. She couldn’t forget what happened in the corridor after break time.

A few moments later, Harriet casually opened the classroom door and sat on a plastic chair next to Darcy, who gave her an irritated stare. “Glad you could join us Miss Melloy, Miss Palin,” announced Mr Snake, “You got here just in time for decimal word problems.”

Darcy wrestled out a notebook and pencil. But Harriet casually got out her notebook and pencil. Darcy gave her best impression of paying close attention to the lesson, whilst Harriet drank in every word.
