A Grand Entrance

The floor shuddered and the lights flickered. I stumbled backwards, gripping the railings and my ears pounded at the roaring noise that echoed around the perfectly polished room. People screamed and I tried to too but the shock overpowered me and i kept my mouth tightly shut.

Dark shadows circled around the walls and a silent chill ran through me. Suddenly through a crack in the wall a bright, white ghostly figure seeped through and screamed as loud as the Earth’s atmosphere could hold. Oh no. The Ghost of Handsom Hall was back. After all the years. And that.. was because of me.

  1. This is a really powerful piece of writing. I really liked your alliteration in “perfectly polished” as it really made it sound clipped and posh, just like I imagine the hall to be.
It’s a great start to a ghost story. What on Earth did you do to awaken the ghost? What is going to happen next?
