Violletta Firth’s adventures

Prelude

Imagine sitting on the sunny deck of a sky-ship, relaxing on a sun lounger, the cool breeze tickling your toes and down below is a peaceful lake with only one disturbance, some elegant swans arching their necks into a heart.

On the other hand, erm hello? STOP SNOOZING! …….

Right, on the other hand if you took a trip at the opposite time of year you would get the opposite effect, I would advise you not to go sun-bathing in your sun-glasses and bikini with the raging waves below and thunder clouds above as you might well catch hyperthermia.

Mysteriously, adventurers have trekked up Point-Rock mountains and reached the mist at the top and vanished. The legend has it that mountain pixies kidnap the unfortunate explorers and turn them into mountain goats and some say they heard their shrilly, goaty calls.

Molly and Mack’s mouths gaped open in horror as the mountain dragons appeared at of the mist. The twins had been travelling north towards Point-Rock Mountains and beyond, along with their fellow crew mate captain and ship doctor, Sheila. The vessel they were travelling on was called Viollettta Firth and had an unusual feature, she was no ordinary ship…she was a sky-ship!

There was an ear-drum bursting ‘hiss’ as one of the dragon’s fireballs collided with one of the engines and air seeped out of the supply tank. “Hold on!” Sheila bellowed over the noise, “We’re going to go down if we don’t land, you two get down the hatches!”

Bbbu…” Mack protested but she cut him of,

No buts, get below deck and grab onto something solid!”

The twins scrambled down through the hatch and down the ladder.

Grab onto the hammock support ropes!” Molly cried.

They gripped on so tight the ropes burned but still they hung on, they prayed Sheila would be able to land the ship safely and the dragons would retreat. Just like in movies, Violletta Firth made a stomach-churning lurch to the side and the hammocks swung wildly, dragging, Molly and Mack with them as though they were their prisoners.
