Stargrazer Part-Four
Stargrazer Part-Four
It was a calm day on the Sky ship; Tom was polishing his shoes, Lorna was curled up with her favourite book and the Blue-tit (now named Beaks) was going crazy in the kitchen. You couldn’t call the weather calm that day but Lorna and Tom didn’t mind, they were having so much fun! When Lorna had finished her book it had begun to get dark.
“Let’s have our dinner and then go to bed.” Tom said as he peeked round Lorna’s door. So they ate a delicious meal of Macaroni Cheese with carrot cake, ignoring the rumble of thunder and then made their way over to their bedrooms.
All night the trees hammered against the windows like an inpatient postman delivering the letters. Alone in her bedroom, Lorna clung to the bedpost as rain shattered down the sails and dripped onto the deck. Mist covered the sky and would not drift away, a little bit like a small girl clinging to her mother. Lorna’s knuckles whitened. At that moment, Lorna noticed a strange shadow looming over her. Silently, it crept closer. Please don’t let it be a dragon she prayed. A feather ruffled in the moonlight. Lorna shrieked her, heart full of terror. Was it a thunder goblin come to pay revenge?
Just then the door burst open. It was Tom!
His torch flickered on and what did it reveal? It was Beaks!
“Oh Lorna,” he giggled. “Do you see how silly you’ve been? That was Beaks! Didn’t you notice by the feathers?”
“I’m sorry Tom. I couldn’t help it. Honestly.” she whimpered in a small voice.
Tom sighed. “Well never mind, at least you’re safe and aren’t hurt.”
And with that Tom stumbled back to his room as he was tired from the night’s happenings. Lorna was soon in bed as well, but she made completely sure that Beaks was safely back in the kitchen. When she was sure Beaks was fast asleep, she crept back to bed herself and soon drifted off as well.
