Sam was up on the deck of the now flying sky ship, he was practising his star gazing.  Down below Amelia was making a bed for jerry out of some old blankets. Jerry was asleep almost instantly sucking at a piece of cheese {he was crazy for them!}.   Amelia went up on deck next to Sam. “Come on Sam I’m tired!” Amelia moaned. They went downstairs and climbed into their bunkbeds snuggling down before dropping off to sleep, well, mostly. Amelia was lying awake in her bunk not being able to sleep…

All night, incessant thunder bellowed. Alone, Amelia curled up in her bed stroking jerry in her hands. Snow pelted the side of the ship like a never ending waterfall. Wind ripped at the sails making the mast creak. Amelia flinched as jerry bit her hand in fright. How long will this go on for? Amelia thought. At that moment, something screeched like a crow, Amelia heard a thump as something landed on the roof, scraping in the snow. Amelia’s eyes widened with fear as she saw a talon poking through the roof. What was it?

Amelia climbed down to the bottom bunk wakening Sam. “There’s something climbing through the roof!” she whispered, shaking.

“What?” Sam said half asleep

“Nonsense!” someone said It was Captain Alice! “It’s just a branch!” she said pulling it down.

“PHEW!” Sam said Amelia shrugged “I’m not so sure!”
