Stargrazer- by Chloe G
Stargrazer!!!
You’ve probably been on an aeroplane before and if you have you would know that an airship is quite similar. You have the same funny feeling as you blast off and the same air blowing in your face. But best of all, the happiness you feel as you drift through the sky. You should try a fly in the thick winter snow as the sharp teeth of the breeze dig into your arms. You might of seen dragons breath fire in the clouds or the mighty goblins that sail on the ground. If you’ve seen this before you know the danger that lurks in the sky. But the dragons claw if the thing that most fear. That’s when the journey isn’t so much fun.
Gemma and Tyler left the big city just a couple of weeks ago after dragons had invaded the city. They still hadn’t found somewhere safe to stay.
“Are we almost there yet?” Asked Gemma impatiently. But Tyler didn’t have time to answer her because a tornado of dragons burst out clouds following them. Suddenly, the sky went grey and lightning struck. “Mind out!” Yelled Tyler as the King of the the blood curdling dragons swooped towards them missing them by an inch. Captain Smith fiercely turned the wheel dodging the dragons. The clouds engulfed them so, Gemma grabbed the micro-teloscipisian to see.
Tyler grabbed the magic healer so he could repair the holes in the ship. “Aaaarrrrgggggh!” Screamed Gemma as the dragon clenched her ankle. Tyler grabbed the sword and chopped off the dragons hand.
In a blink of an eye, the king dragon poked his talons through the balloon causing them to fall to the ground.
Episode 2-mysterious landing!!!
The air balloon emitted air and with a dying hiss it swooped to the ground leaving no way of getting back up. Gemma and Tyler shrieked as the airship crashed the ground breaking it’s sides. Gemma looked around and realised they where in the magical hollow wood. Tyler was enchanted by the magical forest and the creatures that lived in it. There was a unicorn grazing in the field where the sunflowers and pixies fluttered and flourished.
“This is amazing!” laughed Gemma as she twirled around in the sun. “Well you are going to have to get used to it.” yelled Captain Smith. “It’s going to take a long time to fix.
There was a huge castle up ahead so, Tyler suggested to use it as shelter.
“I’m going to get some food and some supplies.” called Captain Smith. “Don’t go anywhere until we get back and don’t worry nothings going to eat you. ” chuckled Captain Smith. But Tyler and Gemma weren’t laughing.
As soon as he left, one of the branches cracked! Was someone following them or where they alone?
Episode 3!!!
Tyler rapidly spun around in fear. He could feel his heart thumping hard. Gemma looked where he was staring and spotted a baby dragon. But this one wasn’t evil and terrifying no, this one wanted to join their adventure. “Oh Tyler! Please can we keep him?” Gemma yelled gleefully. “Fine.” Tyler replied.
Soon Captain Smith and the crew returned. “I’ve got enough supplies to fix the ship.” Said Captain Smith. Staring at the baby dragon, Captain Smith marched other to Gemma and pulled a look of disgust. Wrinkles of anger appeared on his brow. “Why have you got one of these enemies?” He asked in anger barging past Gemma ready to chuck the dragon down the hill. “He’s our friend!” They both said in unison.
Captain Smith hated that they had been friends with the enemy and his head went as red as a tomato.
They got back into the sky and started drifting of to sleep in dream land.
Episode 4!!!
As the sky ship reached it’s highest point, Captain Smith scuttled onto the deck. “Hold on!” Chuckled Captain Smith. Gemma was happily playing on the deck but Tyler was missing his family and their home. Tyler was trembling at the thought of making another evacuation. The emerald dragon flew over Gemma making her giggle.
It was then that a huge shadow emerged from the gloom. They both ducked as Tyler skipped a breath. It wasn’t a dragon though, it was another sky ship. “You two better get to bed. The rescue team has arrived.” Barked Captain Smith. They soon drifted off to sleep.
This is brilliant Chloe! A story that I didn’t want to end.
I really like your opening paragraph as it really gets the reading thinking and makes the story feel personal. I particularly like the sentence that says, ‘You should try a fly in the thick winter snow as the sharp teeth of the breeze dig into your arms.’
To make this even better I think you could into a little more detail at the end of Episode 3 to describe the skyship being fixed and returning to the skies.
Keep up this amazing work!
