Skull cannon. Episode 4: Dad.
After half an hour, Abby and Bavar were fast asleep in one of the cabins of Skull Cannon. The sea was foamy and the sky was dark, dusk was falling. Stars twinkled in the night and shone bright rays of light through the portholes; sometimes waking the little bear. Through the darkness, Abby was in deep rest; her eyes still like a stag who got attracted by headlights and Bavar was rolling from side to side.
When dawn finally rose, Abby’s eyes blinked open swiftly. Bavar was already on deck, watching the sun come to its day place. She strolled over to him and ruffled her hand in his oaky fur.
“Hello and Morning little bear!” the girl said kindly. Her smile had finally returned and she was ready for the new day ahead. Bavar nodded slowly and stayed put in his beautiful spot. The clouds above the two were albino-white and the sun was shining large rays in their eyes.
In that bitter split second, they heard something. Or someone. An ear-splitting scream filled the air. Shadows now loomed over deck and silhouettes move swiftly from corner to corner. Who? What? Abby’s brain was spinning. Waves flipped and swept darkly and Bavar roared menacingly.
“OH NO!” cried Abby, tears streamed down her cheeks like little rain droplets. “NO, PLEASE!” Her throat was dry as desert sand and her bloodshot eyes were full of tears.
“Please what?” boomed the figure.
“PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!” screamed the tiny girl.
“Why, you want me to leave you alone, I see….”
“YES PLEASE!”
The figure’s gloved hand reached out to its hood. What was it doing? Waves thrashed over this mystery person but he was still in the same position.
“Don’t you want to see who I am first?” the shadow beamed hopefully.
“NO, NEVER EVER DO I WANT TO SEE YOU!”
Ashamed and down, they strolled away. But, their hand reached out to pull off the hood. With a flick of their fingers the hood came down. To Abby’s surprise, it was no one scary. It was really someone who she knew deepy and loved with all her heart…
Her Dad.
“YOUR ALIVE!” she screamed. The waves came to halt and the sky cleared up.
“Y-yes and who’s your lovely furry friend?” asked her father, stroking Bavar.
“Bavar. He’s Bavar. Now, you can join US. Me, you and Bavar,” replied Abby.
