Prologue

The Edible Emporium is infamous for being the  most dangerous shop in America. No one steps through the golden gingerbread doors nor do they smash through the windows of boiled sweets. Never. Not until now anyway…

Chapter one – Through the door

Everyday Preston had to be dragged to school by his evil parents and he tried to catch a glimpse at the Edible Emporium. On one occasion, Preston’s eye (he was blind in one eye) met a colossal gingerbread man! Questions flooded his mind. How long did it take to bake? How did they find an oven big enough? Is it edible? Immediately he broke free from his mother’s grip and burst through the door of the emporium. “So you dare to enter do you “ said a mysterious voice. Preston shot his head around and saw nothing. Then he heard it again. He saw the mouth of the gingerbread man moving as he heard the voice. “Time to lock the doors, hahah!”
