The Everywhere but Nowhere Emporium

The Everywhere but Nowhere Emporium

The Everywhere but Nowhere Emporium was true to its name. Every village, town and city had one. As soon as an ordinary person tried to open the door, however, the shop disappeared and the person had no idea it existed and couldn’t recollect the incident. You had to have a wondrous mind to enter and that was very rare. Every time a wondrous person entered, it was a very big deal. So big of a deal in fact, that they became the master’s apprentice and eventually the master themselves.

Anna always saw the Emporium on her way to the bus stop. She was very curious of it, like she was of everything. She may have tried to look in the keyhole once or twice and may have tried to bust down the door once or twice. She felt a pull to it somehow. The door was always closed though and even with the pull, she wasn’t going to commit a crime. One day, an ordinary day for Anna, the door was open. As she stared at the door, a mini argument was going on inside her head. Her conscience told her that it was still a crime even if the door was open. Her rebel said that she should go in and even with the unlikely event they were caught, she could use her curious nature and the fact that the door was open as an excuse. Even her conscience was coming to the idea, although it still had misgivings about being caught.

  1. Hi Freya! I really like this piece of work especially the phrase “she felt a pull to it somehow.” Also, I noticed that there is some really strong volcabulary that you out in there! Well done. Maybe you could think of some more fronted adverbials or fronted adverbial phrases to put in?

  2. Just to make the flow of the story working, you could have written: …her rebel SIDE said…
