“H…hello” said Rose with a whimper.

“I’m Mr Gilmor.” he spoke in a high pitched voice  “I see you have wandered into my shop, it’s silent here noddy comes in any more after…” he looked as if he was rendering some tragic time or memory. “Take what you need. But never look in the back room.” 

Rose fell silent; she was bursting with fear and excitement. What would be in the back room? Can she trust Mr Gilmor? As she looks around with the debate swirling around.

Shelves were stacked with tins that looked as if it were the war, the shop had an old look to it like it were world war two. 

Rose went home that night and wondered what would be in the room. Will there be more old things or a silent secret with a twist? She could not get to sleep as Mr Gilmor was still in the war? But the dig questioned what was in the book.

The next day, Rose went to see if the shop had gone but yet it was still there. Rose entered, Mr Gilmor was not there. This was the perfect time to enter through the doorway and see what was in the book. Then Mr Gilmor seemed to be sitting at the counter and reading the newspaper. Then in dig letters it said. Pearl Harbour attacked, killing many soldiers. Rose stepped back. 

“Oh hello rose!” He smiled 

“How do you know my name? And why does it say Pearl Harbour?” She was very confused.

“Well let’s not get into any questions shall we.” 

“Okay ummm.”

After a while, she saw a book and she had to open it. Inside there were drawings of amazing things. She picked a pen and drawed whatever came to her mind first. She drawer a hill within a waterfall and a lovely forest, caves, cliffs and animals with a small hut on the side of a lake. Then Mr Gilmor came over, she snapped the book shut and moved a long. The door was open and she moved in.A hall of corridors stretched forever. She entered a door and saw what she had drawn: the hill, water fall, lake,hut, everything. It was amazing that she ran in the hut.
