Breaking a Rule Chapter 2 BY Ava SWW
End of chapter 1
“I see that you admire my book collection.” hissed a man
Riley jumped terrified. She turned around looking for where the voice was coming from.
“Up here.” exclaimed the man
Slowly, she tipped her head up to see the man. She looked up to see one ruby eye staring right at her. The other eye was covered by a eye mask. His black suit seemed to be very clean. The unusual man intimidated her. He whistled and a parrot flew onto his shoulder. Riley loves animals. Her favourite animal was a parrot until it stared at her.
Chapter 2 Breaking a rule.
“My name is Master Gold, I started off as Master Bronze then Master Silver but I have made my way up to Master Gold by the way you can call me Gold!” he shouted, staring at Riley proudly.
Riley bit her finger nails uncomfortably.
“This is my shop do you like it?” Master Gold questioned.
She nodded as she was to scared to speak.
“I don’t mind you looking around my shop but you must NOT touch that book!” Master Gold bellowed, turning his head over to the book.
Slowly, Riley started to lift her head as she heard the parrots wings flutter away.
“I need to go and check on all of the animals behind this door, I trust you not to touch to book.”
30 seconds later Master Gold had disappeared behind the door. She could only see a piece of his coat that was trapped in the door.
“Oh goodness me why does my coat always get trapped in the door!” Gold hissed.
Riley giggled. Quickly, she turned her head over to the book. She dashed to the book, tripped over a pile of antique toys and stared at the book for a few minutes. Gold told her not to touch it but she was so temped to flick open the front cover and start seeing what was inside the mysterious book.
“Shall I?” she whispered under her breath.
She turned her head side to side looking to see if anyone was around. Suddenly, she picked up the book.
Without warning, she dropped the book as the sign flashed. Riley ran over to the sign to see if there was a plug so that she could turn it off. She inspected it for a while. She climbed up onto a stool, put her index finger on a black wire and ran her finger up the wire to see a plug.
“Yes!” she murmured and unplugged the wire.
She dashed to the book and picked it up. Amazed, she opened the book and flicked through the pages.
“Wow!” she cried.
Pictures of cities, towns, villages and many more places sat on the pages. A large red button sat on every page. It looked like a recording button. She pressed the button and spoke into it.
“Umm…a magical land.” she stuttered.
She looked around Emporium trying to see if anything had happened. A turquoise arrow pointed over to a door so she followed it. A glistening golden door handle waited to be opened. As she opened the door it creaked.
“This is INCREDIBLE!”
