Recently, its been extremely scorching in the countryside and Ms Wilson had got Freddie into reading books about fascinating adventures, during the story there was a mysterious deer and Freddie convinced that he had seen the exact deer that was described in the book. In the countryside it was super quiet, everyone’s was kind to each other and they all worked together as a large community; occasionally you’ll get that one toe-rag that disagrees with everyone but other than that it was great, where as in the city it’s loud, no one worked together and the majority of the time people were unpleasant. Freddie loved it there! Butterflies didn’t swim around in his stomach; his head had no worries and there were so many wonderful things to do. His mum would’ve really loved it there: when she was younger all she wanted was a garden full of flowers, cows to milk and an ocean to listen to as she fell to sleep. Hopefully, his mum will come and visit soon!
Annoyingly, the school day felt unbelievably long: he’d been waiting all day to go see the deer, that he’d named Felix, all day. Ms Wilson is the person that introduced Felix to Freddie but she told him to never visit Hundred Acre Wood ALONE-she told him that it was out of boundaries.
I run up Ashgrove Hill, crouch down, crawl past the house and dash into Hundred Acre Wood where I’ll meet Felix. Suddenly, I hear something rustle in the bush. I breath slow and tell myself that its just an illusion. It begins to walk out of the bush, I can’t see it, darkness hides its identity. Slowly, I walk back turning my head back at my every step. Without warning, it revealed itself. Freddie sighed in relief, “Thank goodness it’s just you Felix!” Freddie felt safe here but was confused on why he was hidden. Placing her hand out to show that it’s safe, Felix gingerly stumbled over to him. Injured? He glanced down at his leg. It was horrible, words can’t even describe it. A poster pinned onto a silver birch tree pulled my attention and I couldn’t help but look. UNIQUE DEER WANTED: PRIZE £100! A drawing of FELIX sat on the poster. My eyes watered, my lip trembled and I began to cry. “What on earth are you doing here Freddie Carter!”
I turned to Ms Wilson, holding the poster, “Come on, let’s go.”
Silently, they sat in the warm garden. They had nothing to say. “Freddie, I believe that hunters are looking for this deer to sell,” He couldn’t believe it. He had so many things to say but nothing could leave his mouth. They walked, so thoughts running through there head but they didn’t share anything. “I have seen this happen before, butchers have tried to steal our pigs and cows, there really is nothing that we can do.” Freddie knew that there was a way.
Freddie lay on his bed and stared up the patterned ceiling. So many throughs ran through his head and for the first time in ages butterflies swam in his stomach. Nothing would be solved by this problem; he began to think about giving up. Footsteps ran up the creaking stairs, his bedroom door slammed open and Ms Wilson exclaimed, ” Freddie I have a plan!”
Together they sat and spoke about the fantastic plan that was in store. “Agreed,” they bellowed.
“Okay, so we will need a large rope, my bed sheets, a bandage and a head light.”
Suddenly, a thought popped into Freddie’s head, “What if we see a hunter.”
