Chapter two
She stared at Chara until she started biting her lip. “This is my shop of marvels!” she declared,” Do you like it?” Chara slowly nodded and Serena showed her the book that she had been staring at. “This is my book of marvels. You can use anything in this shop, except for the book,” she warned.
A few minutes later, Serena had disappeared in a cloud of golden smoke, and Chara was alone. She realised that she had been biting her lip and stopped, causing a trail of blood to fall down her face. She was planning on looking around more, but she felt a strange connection to the book. She was desperate to see what secrets were hidden in its pages. She peeked through the silk curtain. There were thousands of doors and she wondered where they led to.
Turning back around, she flicked through all of the pages and saw beautiful drawings of rivers, forests and villages. There was dragons, wizards, mermaids and other things beyond her wildest imagination.
She found a pencil and started to draw a snowy town with a single row of houses and a restaurant, which served her favorite foods and a building, with the thing that she wanted the most.
Suddenly, the owl flew through the corridor and Chara darted after it. When it reached the door that it was looking for, it pecked at it until Chara opened it. What she saw amazed her and she was convinced that it was a dream.
