The change (The sparkling stones p2)
“I-I’m sorry sir!” Jake exclaimed in shock. “Why are you here? What imbecilic intentions did you have?” The old man interrogated. As Jake started to walk away, the snarling dog started barking and pulling on its lead. “I never saw anybody go here, never knew what was in here. I was curious, and had no malicious intentions!” He shouted in his defence. “I see. Well, I guess you can stay, but if I catch you stealing from here then, well, my dog will get a slightly changed lunch.” The old man threatened, grinning like a madman. Jake backed away in fear, and began to sprint. Once he was sure he was far enough away, he began to explore again. However, a few seconds later, the old man was visible again. “Well, if you don’t appreciate my company, maybe we should take you to the next room.” He whispered. “Also, before we continue, I should inform you that my name is Levi.” They walked through the door, and Jake gazed upon the beautiful sight that now lay before him. It was a large cliff, partnered with a sunset. Observing the area, Jake could see that there was also a mineshaft right by him, and the old man was about to leave the room. “Remember what I said, don’t touch anything. At all.” And with that, he left the room.
