Chapter 3: Through the door
It was an attractive cottage with; sunflowers dancing and singing across the entrance; poppies that glowed a vivid red; grey and orange tiles surrounded the building and a wooden door, which lured you into the buliding. Edie was astonished she couldn’t actually believe what she was seeing. In the cottage to the left, lay a foam pit where children bounced and flipped into. Standing in front of her stood a balance beam where all of her idols and heroes were training. The Vaults,Bars,Beam and Floor surrounded her with joy. Up the stairs was a snack bar, named don’t mind if I do coffee shop and seats that sat adults drinking and eating coffee and cake.
“Hello”, called Edie, wondering if anyone would answer. But she was met by silence. Edie never felt this uncomfortable, so she tiptoed down the stairs. Everyone was gone, for a minute she wondered if she stepped into the story of the haunted house.
Edie had thrown into her drawing a wish that she never would forget. A gymnasium waiting for her to gymnastics her heart out. It kind of felt odd, it didn’t feel right. Then that was when she heard it.
Nervously, Edie heard a sound, not any sound, a sound that sounded familiar to an irated dragon’s roar! The noise grew louder and made her ears deathen. Trying not to breathe she crept down the stairs. Edie unexpectedly saw nothing, strangely the sound grew smaller and a shiver travelled down her spine. A moment later she had a glimpse at a door marked private.
Edie opened the door with her fits up, took a deep breath, smashed the door open. It was then she saw it; vibrant scales lay on its back;gleaming eyes stared, making it uncomfortable; a tail swooshed side to side; sharp claws scared the ground. Edie ran out of the door, pushing ever in her way with all her force.
Unexpectedly, the door to the emporium was not there. Nothing that is for endless pathways. Edie tried everything she could, unfortunately it started to pour down with rain, there was just no door! “Help me”, roared a voice behind her!
