Chapter 4 – The goodbye letter
“Go back,” came the voice in just a whisper “Go back.” . There was no way to go , the sun had set, the sky was a coal black and the door had gone . Her anger was coming out of her like a volcano in Hawaii . Her fits had gone white and her eyes were alight with anger . It was so hot , she had no food, no drink, no nothing . Everything was going wrong . Where had the door gone ? How did the book transport her here ? All she wanted to do was go home . Yet it was so wandering full . Full of mysteries . She stood up full of courage and determination to set things right . She trembled through the grass , until she reached an opening . Amelia rushed through the forest until she came face to face with a cave …
Rocks fell , water dripped and the air was cold . “Go back..” the voice came traveling in the wind . Deeper and deeper into the cave the more wet and the more darker it got . From the corner of her eye she saw a big wooden door calling her name . As quick as a bullet she moved towards it all until . “ Go back Amelia , it isn’t safe out there .” She looked back , there was no one but the voice seemed so reassuring . There was no time . Amelia was scared , hungry and needed warmth . She fell into the doorway and everything around her went black she was falling at an alarming rate . Everything was silent . So silent that she could hear her heartbeat . The long lasting voice was trailing behind her .
“I see you opened the book , did you like what you saw?” His voice was so calm from the last time and the shop seemed so magical and like a home.
“No . How did you know I was in here and how did that happen?” Amelia’s voice seemed calm .”
“ Did you hear her?”
“ I heard a voice . It said ‘Go home.’”
Mr Goodnook’s face was as white as a sheep . He stepped back in horror as if something was wrong .
“ Leave at once and never come back. OK never come back, maybe one day you will see me but you won’t remember.”
“What do you mean?”
Mr Goodnook gave a sigh and trailed to the back of the shop. Amelia trembled over to the front door taking one last look at all the treasures . All of the stories they each hold .
Outside she closed her eyes thinking of all the things that had happened . When she turned back there was an empty space where the shop had once been but now just a normal old street like nothing had ever happened . The only thing left was a note . A note that read : “ Farewell Amelia , It isn’t safe for me or for you . after what had happened when you were in a new world was my sister . I hoped that that would never happen again but you were special and she wanted to drag you in like others . You need to never come looking for me to ask anyone about my shop as they will not remember . I could have kept you in as you may have told everyone about my shop . You are different and hold a power greater than the human eye . Farewell , I will see you soon . Remember me and be careful what you say…”
