End of the magic emporium by Isabella SWW
Chapter 4
END of story
Ignoring the sound, Lia saw an Icy blue lake from behind the trees. Running with the breeze, she peered into the water. Bulrushes surrounded it, butterflies hovered, until she got a glimpse of an ivy wrapped door lying there at the bottom.
Plunging in, she remembered that Mr Logway had thought she swam like a shark at her swimming lessons. Her heart hammering in her chest, she held her breath, and dived down.
DOWN. DOWN. she went through the sapphire lake, spinning and waiting for a breath, until she could not see anything. Her eyes started to sting, all the moss was on her clothes, and her hair was soaking wet. She could not handle it, it was pulling her lower, she grasped the door handle viciously with all her strength flopped in lazily like a fish without water. Some time later, she found herself on the emporium floor her head bleeding. What had happened?
Suspiciously, she tiptoed back through the curtains and stepped into the shop. Mrs Brown peered down at her. Did you see what you drew she said. Lia nodded guiltily.
”The thing is,” Mrs brown said, ”you can visit other wonders but the past cannot be undone, so you don’t always find what you draw. ”You know there is another day.” She put down the Chinese beckoning cat she was polishing, and smirked cheekily.
”Come again a different day,” she said, holding the door open with a frown, brushed across her face.
Lia stepped out into the cold, clay coloured streets, and breathed in. Lia turned around, wanting to find more. But it was gone. Mrs brown and the Magic emporium were all gone. It was as if it disappeared. Lilac purple dust hit her face and she shivered with fear.
Maybe tomorrow, she wondered walking sadly home, maybe tomorrow. What she did not notice is that she was being followed by a jet black magpie. The magpie pecked at the ring in his nest and sighed. It had all the time on earth.
