chapter-4 memories SWW
Lillie ran. Jumping from rock to rock, stone to stone and all with the witch closing in on her. Her heart was beating fast. What could she do? Then she spotted it; a door just over a pit. She jumped, reached out her hand and fell in a struggle. She tried to find a foothold but she slipped… A streak of blood lay across her face. “Where am I ?” Then she remembered how she had fallen down the pit, how close she was to escaping and now she was worse than she had started off. Desperately, Lillie called out “Hello,” there was no answer. That was it. She gave up. What was the point of trying? She would just fail. Then a bright flash of light encumbered the room “What’s happening? ” “Whoa!” she gasped as she stared at the beautiful crystal walls around her. They were flashing with memory’s… her memory’s! A picture crossed her mind of a beastly monster and herself! She was being carried by her mum she threw her through the door but her mum did not make it, neither her dad. Then it came back to her how her parents had written in the book, how they had died getting her out of the dangerous room they had created. That was how she had got her scar! She also remembered that the old mansion she had explored belonged to her parents! Then it happened. A door appeared. Daylight shone out of the open door. Lillie ran, jumped through and she fell to the ground. She was back in the Secret Emporium! She turned around, the door was not there… Bewildered, she crept through the crimson velvet curtains around the till and froze. Wishing she was anywhere but here, Secret shouted, “What are you doing? I warned you what would happen if you set foot in my shop” and with that he lifted her into the air by her collar, threw her out of the door and into the rain. Outside she turned around wanting to know more, but there was just a space where the Emporium had once stood. Not many children remember their experience in the Emporium but I have I feeling Lillie will. Though she did not know that a black cat was following her all the way back to her parents mansion. Her new home. But it was fine, it had enough patience to wait until she was ready which would be sooner than expected.
