When the world falls SWW

When the world falls Chapter 3 Discovered.

The summer is like an ice-cream when it melts, except it always dissolves too fast. Every day Violet and Charlotte go to see Lula and Kittie and ride them through the fields, the wind blowing through their hair.
Sometimes they helped Miss Cherry with the farming. They had jobs during the summer holidays which included ice-cream selling and babysitting. They got payed a sixpence an hour each! (Or more!) Violet and Charlotte usually spent this on sweets, but sometimes bought some meat from the butchers for Lula and Kittie. Week after week passed, and soon the familiar hustle bustle of the city became replaced by the sounds of the country.

Their favourite thing to do was to spend time with Kittie and Lula and the rest of the wildcats and leopards.
They rode very far before they gave Lula and Kittie their meat, otherwise a pack of leopards and wildcats would have come running. As they ate, the twins marvelled at Lula and Kittie’s sapphire eyes, and their fur that glinted in the sunlight.

One day they were riding Lulu and Kitty, when they saw the newspaper reporter in the clearing – where the Leopard and wild cats were! They rushed inside and saw him taking pictures. Charlotte draggred him out the clearing, and they saw him rush off. They told Miss Cherry, grabbed some sticks, and make their way to the clearing.

The newspaper reporter was well aware of the sticks they were brandishing, but all he did was find the Leopards and wild cats and give them a stroke. Stunned Miss Cherry, Violet and Charlotte drop the sticks.

They talk to Miss Cherry about making the shelter public, and she says yes! It takes a while but when it is done everyone visits very often, and they donate every time they come, and visit Miss Cherry still keeps a secret storage of branches-just in case.

When the world falls chapter 1 Ellie SWW

When the World falls.

Violet has been scared of chocolate bars for as long as Charlotte can remember. So when the twins got to the house, Charlotte is eager to tell Miss Cherry that. Miss Cherry is a Farmer, sometimes they help her pick the strawberries to make strawberry pie. They live in a three room cottage, one room is Charlotte’s, the second is Violet’s and the third belongs to Miss and Mister Cherry. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they go to school, on the other days they help at the farm. Miss Cherry had a son fighting in the war but last week she received a letter saying that he died in a bombing attack. If they mention it she will go really quiet, and start thinking about him. Violet learnt that the hard way.

When Charlotte and Violet are at Perfect Primary on Tuesdays and Thursday they try to be friendly at school, although they don’t really know anyone. Their new teachers name is Miss Ami Marmalade. They do their homework after school everyday, before going out into the forest to play. The reason they like the forest is that it has all kind of Animals, and they can freely attempt to climb trees. Violet does not try to climb some trees instead, she gets out a mirror from her rucksack to do her hair. Yesterday, Charlotte managed to climb a tree!

Their daily routine is to get up at half five, do the farming chores, eat breakfast, then do more family chores, and then go to the forest and then they come back and eat dinner. At the dinner table, even with the war Mister Cherry (Miss Cherry’s brother), and Miss Cherry join them for dinner. There unhelpfully isn’t much more I can say about their home life.

The only thing that is off about the Cherries is how they go into the forest every day. They say they have business there but Charlotte can’t help but wonder what it could be. At exactly 9pm every night even during a bombing, they get dressed, grab some food from the fridge and set off. Charlotte told Violet except, she didn’t believe her so, Charlotte somehow got Violet to stay up tonight they sat in the ginormous window frame in Charlotte’s bedroom what they would find that night would change there lives forever.

Charlotte suddenly sprints off at the speed of light. Violet sighs and realises she must follow her sister. Charlotte bolts of, out, the door, and towards the forest, Violet closing in on her sister. Charlotte realises this and suddenly stops and climbs up the old climbing tree. Violet breaths in, sighs, and climbs. Violet, climbs! For the first time in her life she climbs . 5 minutes later they are laughing while swinging and jumping from branch to branch.

As they climb down and embark into a clearing they see a leopard, and wildcat treehouse (its a treehouse with Leopards and Wildcats in) I know it sounds weird but its true. They climb around the treehouse with the Leopards and Wildcats. When the leopards offer them a ride Charlotte hops on the back and so does Violet, when they remember some thing, “Oh no, Violet were going to get back after the Cherries wake up!”
“Kittie can you give us a ride?” Of course Kittie didn’t respond but she gave a meowing sound that sounded like a yes. “Lula can you give me a ride too?” She responded in the same way as Kittie did so they took that as a yes. Lula and Kittie we enjoying the run very much so were Charlotte and violet, when they got back they hurried back they called “Thanks Lula, Kittie.” and hurried into their bedrooms just before the morning.

Evacuee letter SWW

Dear mam,
Thank you for the Toffee, sandwiches and cheese it was delicious, all the other kids were jealous! Hands were being waved in the air by scared kids, as we departed. The journey was so much fun for all of us, it included the experience of many of us going on a train for the very first time!

Cards were played by kids, eager to win. I clutched my favourite graphic novel, one of my few items from Gloucestershire. I have no doubt that teddy bears were carried in every suitcase, by children from cities all around England. Me and my new friend Chloe (I met her on the train), found out we are being transferred to Stone. I miss you very much.

We all clambered out the train as it came to a stop, Chloe, Emma (her sister), and I made way to the village hall. As we got there we had to sit down on chairs Chloe, Emma and I sat next to each other. We were all very small. There was only one lady left, and Emma, Chloe and I were the only children left . So we were picked last by Ms Jessica.

She is really nice I think you would like her, of course you are my one and only mother. When this dreadful war is over I hope I can introduce you to her. I almost forgot to thank you for the brand new toy you packed! Ms Jessica works for a fancy and rich house owner, who lives in Newport house (its near hear) Chloe and I go with her to earn more, after all it’s the least we can do. I feel sorry that while Chloe and I are having fun cleaning in in Newport house; Emma is stuck in peacock primary. I’ve run out of paper now so I’ll write to you next week. From Ellie

The Ship of Destiny SWW Ellie

The Ship of Destiny.

The sail (made of oak-wood) topples over,
as sailors duck out of the way down below,
the sail now deep in the ocean,
as it sails towards the horizon.

The Unknown is peacefully gliding in the water,
if they close their eyes they can almost hear the wind,
using the oars to row into the great unknown.

The captain stands on the bow thinking to him self, ‘I can’t change destiny.’
While watching the opal sun tuck itself under the great beyond,
soon he’s thinking I will sail far enough to meet destiny Myself.

At night when the sailors and I are fast asleep
the monsters come out,
the Ghouls, Ghosts, and in the morning
when we wake up at least one sailor is reported missing.
Skeletons are there tucked into corners
and some just lying in the corridors.

Sometimes at night the captain can hear their last words
echoing through the back of his mind.
Always sad screaming help, but
he thinks, why are they not happy?
they died for a better future.
One that’s better for all humanity.

But one fateful night the battle between captain Sham,
and pure, and strong destiny, killed captain Sham,
because, he had got his wish, and the reason people live
is to make their three wish come true.

The catamander SWW

Danger SWW

Chapter 2
I am pacing; wondering why he is here, when he yanks me inside the old crumbling trunk, I stuffed him in earlier. He explains to me that he has seen the catamander chasing him through the town’s streets. He is explaining that ,as the curious catamander was chasing him, he saw my attic window was ajar and climbed up here as quickly as he could. Now we are in here talking to each other by candle light. Asking me my name is the first thing he says, I cut in and tell him, Emma. Emma Frost. He is asking what I have and I say I can spare : food, blankets, water, candles, lighters. He says “Good we’ll need them.” When I ask what for, he says, “We’re going out.”

Ten minutes later, as we climb out of the window I say, “By the way, if anything happens, I want you to know I fully object to this!” As we start walking, rains starts pouring down, making the paths slippery, and it doesn’t help that I think that I heard thunder in the distance. “I knew I should have stayed back in my warm snuggly attic drinking hot coco while looking outside, not actually outside!” I mutter to myself. As we walk past them, I realise why all the shops and houses windows are boarded up… “Frankie we need to go, a storms brewing…”
” It’s only a little storm” he says, shrugging.
“No you don’t understand. Storms here are brutal!” But there he goes, not listening. I come to the conclusion that the only way to get him back to my attic is to do what he wants…

As we walk through the town, I notice the crisp packets littering the beach floating on the flowing water in the distance. The bad weather is indescribable: The lightning thrashes; the waves toss and turn; and the rain thunders down from the black clouds. Frankie runs on ahead but I examine a weird red glowing light from Tatiana’s Ice-cream parlor. I peer inside, but as there is nothing there, I catch up with Frankie. We pass: a toy shop, fish and chip shop, and a candy shop.

As we crouch down in the sand we see something we hadn’t. Blood. To be exact a trail of it down to the sea caves. A chill runs down Frankie and my spines as an ear piercing scream echoes out of the cave. I start to have second thoughts but Frankie (more eager than ever) charges across the sand towards the cave. Seeing as I am holding his hand I have no choice but to follow him. “Look Emma!” as I open
my eyes, I see the cave is empty… Or so I think.

Creeping towards what Frankie thinks is the creature, I wait. But just as Frankie advances I see a cat-like creature, with claws sharp as a sword poised ready for action. It runs, leaps and does an elegant turn in the air, watching its prey. Ready for anything. Its fur is the colour of the sea thrashing and crashing, snow tipped. Our surroundings are dark as we explore the cave. All of a sudden the cave starts shaking; the ground thrums; pebbles fly. As it stops Frankie and I see one of the most horrifying things we have ever seen.

I shout, “Watch out!” Just in time Frankie ducks as the thing scampers over him. It advances on me next. Before we continue the story I need to tell you something, I think it was me screaming, “We’re going to die!” that scared it off no matter what Frankie says. So where was I? Oh right the brutal attack. As It rushed at me I screamed, “We are so going to die!” And at that moment when the waves were lethal, the lightning close, the rain pouring is when it happened. It left. Just like that. It left. Me and Frankie can’t believe we are still alive, we just have to hope it won’t happen again. We know it will happen again for it is the Catamander, and their main prey are children.

The Catamander

It’s very likely that you’ve visited Trouble-On-Sea. In the summer you probably sat lounging in your room, or out with your family eating ice-cream, whilst digging holes and building castles. I bet you also stayed at the Grand Dragon Hotel. You definitely had a picnic, though everybody has had a picnic as long as people have been coming, (which they have for a long long time). Your grandparents might have come with you lounging the whole holiday, and at first you were groaning, but then you found out they brought snacks!

Well, either way you haven’t been here at winter when the ice-cream vans have gone, the hotel is empty and when it gets to that time of winter, and you can often hear unexplained sounds from the water’s edge. The water is chilly and frozen at that time of year. But do you want to know the most creepy thing? I’ll save it for later. So you have probably been to Dandelion cafe well, if you want to come back and visit you’ll have to wait for next year as you will find…

My name is Eloise Cole Browne (with an E), but most people call me Emma. I live in the Grand-Dragon-Hotel as one of the many, many receptionists. My job is busy, but I love it. I register the visitors, and write down visitors’ comments in the book of comments. But the hardest job of all, is to check the rooms to find lost things to give to Herbet Lemon. There are 500 rooms. I have friends everywhere. Ms S who owns the croissant kiosk, the owner of the museum John (nobody knows his second name not even himself!) And last of all the Doctor. In my room (the Attic) There is a heater and an old bed, and books on how to be a good receptionist. Oh, and a giant lost trunk. The reason it is here and not in the cellar, is because Herby’s room (the cellar) is full, I have heard strange tales about Herby hiding a strange girl in his room. But I don’t believe them. Did I forget to mention there is a big window about my size that is how I get in and out?

All of a sudden, a banging on the window makes me jump. A scruffy face appears at the window, and at first I think he is a monster like from the legends. Then I see the head is attached to a body. Making me jump again, he whispers “Hide me!” I quickly open the window and he falls through. Hearing clattering and shouting in the hotel, I know something is wrong. To save me and my job, I stuff the boy and his black hair in the trunk and slam it shut.

Before we continue, I need to tell you the legend of the catamander. This is the creepy thing I was going to tell you, but I have decided to tell it now. Apparently, a local creature, the catamander, is spotted during it’s winter holiday to Trouble-on-sea. But when it did, and still does, tales endure the village of missing children, cow’s bones and rising tides. Tales tell of the kid stroking it’s fur as soft as the clouds. But what they didn’t know is that when they stroke it, they will be under its control forever! It roams the streets at night hunting for its prey. It is also supposed to have an egg, to be a wishing egg. Some think that it came and still comes ashore looking for its lost child but it is really looking for its child. Its lost child. Its lost child is famed to glow a unique colour of magenta it was also often mistaken for an Alien. Some said it only arises from its underwater lair when a storm is upon us. The lightning strutting across the sky. The waves thrashing. But it only truly comes ashore to find its child.

The Boy talks to my from inside the trunk he seems to have found the hole and he says the most unlikely thing “By the way my name is Frankie Lime”.

Days of the week. SWW

The days of the week.

On Monday, I walked pass
the cobbled plaza at the
side of the frosted park to calm down.

On Tuesday, I Touched the walls centre
alley my coat brushing the hard
stone walls coated with feather-like ice.

On Wednesday, I walked around war
roundabout balancing the fallen poppy
decorations back on the frosted memorial.

On Thursday, I strolled down shop street,
glancing at the decorated shop windows
passing by me as I slid across the sheets of ice.

On Friday I saw the beautiful purple,
orange and yellow sky as the sun
tucked to bed behind the horizon.

On Saturday The Wotton National
trust park was stuffed full of people
all eager to see the magnificent views.

On Sunday I stood on my stool to get
up the stone wall in my garden to reach
the frosted patio up above frosted with
the powder ice blanketing the patio slates.

Chapter 3 cogheart 2 SWW

Chapter 3

As Lily reached out into the darkest depths of the shed she pulled out the box it was ornate, carved with patterns of elves and fairies and unicorns. Lily and Robert were no longer arguing and watched in awe as Aria opened the box and picked up a bracelet and put it on. Suddenly Aria seemed frozen in time. As Robert and Lily made their way over. Aria re-appeared, tears streaking her face. Lily ran up to her asking questions, questions, questions. While Robert hung back and said to Aria “Are you okay?”
“No” she said back “I re-lived the car crash that my father died in”

As Lily once again patrolled the shed’s perimeter Aria sulked in one corner of the shed, and Robert sulked in the other. “Come on lazy bones don’t lose hope” Lily stared in their direction.
“Why should we have hope its not like were getting out of here”
“Well yeh that’s the plan get out”
“Seriously Lily don’t even try you’ve checked the whole shed already”
“Yes but not with your help.”

“You guys” Aria whispered softly. “You guys” she whispered a little more loudly. Then … “you guys!” she shouted at them.
Angrily Robert and Lily snapped back “What?”
“Listen I know your both hungry and angry but we must focus on getting out!”

Part 2(WEDNESDAY)
Paragraph 1
“Hello?” In surprise Lily, Robert and Aria said in shock
“Selena!”
“Yep it’s me I thought you might need this she dropped a small gold key through the window.
“Wait how did you escape” Lily asked eager to know
“That’s for me to know and you to find out”

Lily rushed to the door there was a clanking sound as the door clicked open.
The Trio peered around the window, the coast was clear they broke into a run.

Paragraph 3
Minutes later they were in the local barn. “so Selena how did you escape?”
“Well after you guys were captured I hid behind the fridge in the kitchen and waited until Silverfish had gone and stole the key.”
“That was clever of you Selena”, Robert smiled.
“Well look whose smiling again” Lily beamed at him.
