The Magical Bureau – Chapter 4

End of Chapter 3 – Through the door

For Daniel’s surprise, he saw a massive tent and inside it was everythig he needed : Food , clothes , water, blankets , comfy pillows , a sleeping bag , a pen and a book, a pair of binoculars, a rope (to climb up and down , a comb and a couple of breathmints. Every item had a name carved onto that object, which was ‘Daniel Holmes’. Daniel was extremley shocked. On top of the Effiel Tower, was everything he ever intended. Before Daniel began exploring , he first had marshmellows, which was cooked using fire matches.

“Hello Paris!” Screamed Daniel, into thin air. Everything he said would echo back, so Daniel carried on shouting into the air, which clearly pointed out to the birds, to not mess with this peculiar boy. Suddenly he heard a voice, loud enough to blow someone’s eardrums,  “Come back,” hissed a voice behind him.

Chapter 4 – The Return

Ignoring the sudden voice that filled his ears, unmesmerisingly. Daniel halted, the door wasn’t there it completely vanished in thin air. There was no door but there was a door, which was transparent, and woven into the starry night . Daniel opened the door and found himself to be in the elevator of the Eiffel Tower. He saw lots of food, which was outdated, and it had ants everywhere. It was appalling. Daniel luckily spotted another door, he was even more curious of how terrible this was going to be. It was a pool big enough to fit thousands of people or even more. Daniel saw something glow in the pool it was faint and darkened by the night, but it was still glowing brightly. He jumped into the pool and saw another door, glowing brightly on top of his face, it was blinding.

He swam closer and closer whilst holding his breath and turning red. He remembered his swimming techniques and whooshed through the greenish blue water. In summer camp, (includes swimming) his teacher, Mr Carter, had said he had the speed of a cheetah and that he sawm in waves like a whale, Daniel could hear footsteps ascending so he quickly dived in the water and began swimming as fast as he can.

Down, he went and saw the glowing outline of the door, he was now gasping for breath, but he carried on kicking harder. Grasping the door handle, he tugged. With a snap of a finger, the water  was emptying itself, she ran through the door and into the hallway, of the Emporium. Exhausted, he lay there panting, like a fish out of water. The door was closed. It was dry. Incredibly, his clothes and hair were dry. He was back in the Bureo. What had happened?

Ashamed, he tiptoed, into the exact same place he was before he went into this tiering short journey. Mr Silver stared at him with fury as he had disobeyed his rules, “Ah, I see you have come back to us. Did you find what you were looking for?” Daniel shook his head.

“The thing is,” Mr Silver explained, ” you can visit and create many unique wonders but the past cannot be undone , and we never find what we ever expect! Still, there is another day.” He put down his wooden quill and his Book Of Wonders, and smiled.

“Come back another day,” he said, holding the door open.

Daniel started at the street and then stared at the wonderful shop. He was hoping Mr Silver would let him stay for a night, but when he looked behind him, The Magical Bureo and Mr Silver disappeared.

Maybe tommorow, thought Daniel, as he walked home. Maybe tommorow. What he didn’t notice was that she was being followed by a Silent Owl. It flew on top of a tree branch and peered over the edge, staring at Daniel closley. The Silent Owl, tilted it’s head and to one side and sighed. It had all the time in the world. Instead of choosing someone else to stalk, he chose Daniel. The boy with the courage.
