Chapter 1
Finally, they were ready to set off.
That noon, a message had arrived from Avro, the postman, that they were urgently needed at The Forgotten Vulcan. Apparently, they had a case of a missing bunny, Ella. Everyone was in a panic. Ella was the queen, mayor and lawyer of the colony. The colony was built at the beginning of the universe when the only species were rabbits. The precise date is unknown even by the finest professors.
So the three little bunnies, Rusty, Randy and Rosie left home on that day. They took supplies and food but no tent because they didn’t have one anyway. Before they even thought about the first village, they had to think of mountains. The mountains were treacherous and dangerous. They had to plan the hike. They planned the hike over the course of a few hours and finally decided that they would make a detour. The planned detour was 500 miles long which meant that they had to spend an extra 2 days on the detour route.
The 3 little rabbits wandered about 102 miles into the detour when they saw the sun begin to set. “We should make a shelter to sleep in but out of what?” asked Randy.
“Can’t we just make it out of the bark of a tree?” questioned Rosie.
So they did just that. Bark of a thunderstruck tree on the ground. Curved side up. Leaves under it. Sticks and rock to seal in the sides and Voila! A house to sleep in. It was a decently sized shelter with lots of room to walk around and sit up in.
The rabbits settled in saying goodnight and giving hugs and snuggling under their large, moss blanket. They quickly got out their basket full of food and ate a few things, especially clover cookies which were their favourite. They finally laid down and closed their eyes.
Randy thought about all the adventures that would await them the following day. All the dangers and enemies but now it was time to sleep. As randy dozed off, his thoughts became fizzy and seemed to pop out of existence. That was the work of sleep.
