The Tigerfly

The Tigerfly is an extraordinary creature that was discovered in 1899 but no-one knows about it yet. Would you know if you saw one?

They have orange and black stripes on their fur (like tigers really), tiny bodies, delicate, cream wings and big brown eyes. They have transparent scales that are impossible to see. It lives in China in a small cave in the middle of Changzhou. 

Like most creatures they hibernate in the summer because it gets too hot for their fur!  Their power is to make something they stare at a different colour, so sometimes they can be dangerous because when they change the colour of something it doesn’t come off.
