The Grackle.

Within a second the silhouette of Snake Soul, one of the Grackle leaders stood in front of him. His whole body was covered in gold armour and he had a diamond encrusted sword in his right hand. He never wore a helmet, he just wore a metal snake mask. The trolls shrieked and without any warning, the streets were filled with goblins, trolls, ogres and dragons of all different shapes and colours.

When the tension had cleared, bodies of wounded monsters were laying on the ground next to the alleyway. Also there was no evidence of Snake Soul. Nervously, Joseph dashed back to the basement and quietly shut the door behind himself. He was certain Snake Soul had come for the wolves.

By sunset, Joseph,Jane and James had escaped Vine Village and were crossing a massive field to Wolly Woods. The adventure had almost taken a full 17 hours so it was night and they found themselves tucked in a shed they had found in the heart of the field. The shed was glowing yellow and it illuminated the grass and weeds around it. Jane thought that they were too close to Snake Soul but they needed rest so they came to the decision to stay the night.

Outside the shed, the flowers swayed under the silver moonl. Inside the shed, Jane was roasting mushrooms and chicken above the blazing fire. Carefully, Joseph slipped the plastic bubble wrap off the knife their father had given them. Joseph had never used it before. It was a purple, shiny colour and it had ‘ARMY spring’ engraved on it. The knife  glowed a bright yellowy, green and that meant trolls, ogres and goblins were nearby.

The door made a squealing sound as wind applied pressure on it. Soon, Joseph could hear faint footsteps outside the warm, cozy shed. He thought it was just an animal but as soon as he turned his back, trolls burst through the ancient door causing it to fall on the ground and make a massive dust cloud. The dust went into all three of the wolves’ crystal, blue eyes making Joseph fling his knife and clutch his eyes. The wolf fell back and hit Jane who was standing in front of James trying to protect him. It looked like dominos falling down. The wolves were paralyzed as the fall damaged their backs. The oldest tried to look around for the pocket knife but he soon realised that it was on top of the dusty workbench smothered in spiders.

It was way too late. A snake mask appeared amongst the monsters. It was nudging the slimy, unclean creatures out of the way to get a better look. It was Snake Soul. His eyes glinted at Joseph. “Trying to hide from me?!” Questioned Snake Soul in a deep, croaky voice. “You’re not very good at it.” Exclaimed the snake. Clapping his giant, scaly hands together, trolls hurried forward and took hold of the three siblings. They arrived at a dimly lit cave where they could hear the sniggers and the laughter of the Grackles. It was there when they realised that the place they had been staying at was the Grackles next target.
