Podkin One-ear: the last chapter
They awoke to a terrifying surprise, the Gorm was only a meter away, about to pounce onto the three innocent rabbits.
“Run!” exclaimed Pook, in his squeaky little voice.
They sprinted as fast as their legs could carry them!
“Go Pod, go Pook!” Shouted Paz, as she noticed the Gorm getting closer. There was no chance they would escape from the Gorm and its allies.
Hours later Pook, Paz, and Podkin could see Huckleberry Woods just a mile or two ahead of them. The snow was even heavier now and nothing could be seen apart from the welcoming lanterns in the wonderful abundance of trees. They knew Auntie Percy was waiting for them in the forest and was preparing their welcoming party. By now, the monster was far away and had already fallen down a hole in the ground, they were almost safe until a familiar looking creature popped up in front of them. You might think it’s the Gorm we are talking about here but no, it was Mape. Mape is a relative of the Gorm but he is stronger than titanium. This was a problem, no one saw this coming but whatever they did they had to act fast. Paz remembered the strong pocket knife she had packed the day before she left so she reached into her pocket and fished it out. It probably wasn’t enough, but it would do some damage.
After slaying and screaming the rabbits escaped Mape! They had made it! The end of the journey, they were now safe in the Huckleberry Woods.
