Bird
On my way home, I met a man called Bird.
His coat was made of feathers
And he had talons as twisted
As tree roots.
As he touched me
His feathers felt as soft as a cloud.
Yesterday, I met a boy called Sadness.
He spoke no words
He only moaned like
A wounded animal.
He did not walk, he
Only moped and his eyes
Were like sunken ships.
Today, I met a girl called Thunder.
Her face was as red as fire
And her rage burned like lava
Spreading through a forest as
She walked.
I met a king called Dolphin.
His fingers were as crinkled
as seaweed.
His eyes were as blue as the ocean
And he ran like a shark hunting for its prey.
I met a boy called Mountain.
His arms were as big as
a boulder and his back was as hairy as a grizzly bear.
He spoke to me in a gruff voice.
I met a Star studier.
His eyes were as blue as Neptune
And his heart was as warm as
The sun.
As he touched me, he felt as cold
As Mercury.
I met a man called Dusk.
His eyes were as black as the sky,
he disappeared as soon as
He arrived.
I met a king called Greed.
He devoured the world like a cookie.
He trudged terrifyingly down the road
Looking for the Universe.
