The animal tree

The animal tree trunk is like an

elephant’s leg standing up straight

the leaves are June beetles dancing to the

wind chorus the roots were like jaguar’s claws

gripping into the ground the fruit

was glinting a blood crimson in the rising sun

the bark was molten iron stuck onto the trunk

discarded by its creator
