The Upside Down Jellyfish
The Upside Down Jellyfish is an extremely rare species that is not very well known. Amazingly, the rare animal can survive in and out of water. Unusually, the Upside Down Jellyfish does not have a sting. Many scientists believed that it was extinct many years ago. Surprisingly, they made a comeback in 2009, by hiding in caves when it was mostly predators roaming the seas.
Although the Jellyfish likes to live near the top of the sea, the Upside down Jellyfish prefers the deep midnight layer. Strangely, the majority of the animals are spotted in the southern side of the island. Perhaps, this is because there is a wide range of seaweed species (including the most popular; singweed) for them to camouflage from predators, such as the denim back turtle.
When an adult Upside Down Jellyfish is fully stretched out it can be the size of your arm. They have 10 tentacles and are pastel blue or purple coloured. Interestingly, a group of them is called a bloom. Also, there are 5-6 of them in a bloom.
Unfortunately, they are at the brink of extinction. Despite what we are doing, the oceans are becoming more and more polluted.
