Chapter 2

Next to the fireplace was a rickety shelf with nothing on. Her desk was very old and covered in dust, she had lots of memories as this had been passed down from her great grandfather because it was made in 1900s. On the windowsill was a vase from her mum with dead flowers in. They arrived at Bigtree Manor, outside it looked like the building was about to collapse because of how old it was. Inside, the house it was really cold even but upstairs it was quite warm. Then they entered lily’s mum and dad’s room but it smelt stuffy because of how old it is and then at the side of the bed was half of the pocket watch and the other was in the bedroom.

Then Robert found a small cog, it looked like it was part of the pocket watch that belonged to her father. Lily still had the chain from the pocket watch so they put them together were this created a map that was going round Bigtree Manor. It led to a top-secret underground basement that they needed a special gadget to enter, just as they started to open the secret door a guy jumped out, it was professor Jonkey with a pump shotgun. Then professor Jonkey shouted menacingly, “Give me that pocket watch!”

“Why should I? It belongs to my father not you,” said Lily.

“Just do it or else.” Answered professor angrily.

“Or else what?” interfered Robert.

“DEATH!” answered professor Jonkey furiously.

“Lily give it to him I do not want to die today so give it to him.” Robert said shivering with fear.

“No it is my father’s!” replied Lily.

A minute later, they were in the attic tied up in rope. “We will never get out of here,” said Robert. then the saw a knife and lily reached out on it and they escaped down stairs and saw professor. He was about to open the door but then they jumped out in the room and made him drop the pocket watch on to the floor.
