Chapter 3

Iris sighed. “Will we ever get out of here? She groaned.

“Shut up moaning and come help me with this, fat gorilla!” said Annie.

“There is no point! We might as just die here!” complained Iris as she put her hand on her cheek. Annie rolled her eyes. When would this be over?

“You can at least try!” snapped Annie.

“Why don’t we wait until we get help or something?” replied Iris.

“I’m being serious, get up now or I’ll pull you up myself!”

“Fine…” muttered Iris. She got up on her feet and began.

Iris looked around the room. There was a sharp needle on the floor! She picked it up and tried to pick the lock. The needle was too short! They both sighed and thought about what they could do next.

All of a sudden, the girls heard barking. It was Brownie! She slid the key under the door as Annie picked it up. She tried to unlock the door but it wouldn’t work! Iris slapped her forehead as Annie passed her the key. Iris got it unlocked her first try!

“Whatever…” Annie murmured.

Annie picked up Brownie and hugged her. They began running away. They ran into a forest and thought it would be a nice place to stay. They could hear the birds tweeting as they decided to adventure further into the forest. It was getting cold and they desperately needed a place to stay.

Annie stopped in her tracks.  Iris was gone collecting wood for the fire, as it was too cold for the three of them. It was just Annie and Brownie. She began stroking Brownie’s soft, silky fur and inhaled. “Where has father gone?” mumbled Annie. “And who locked me and Iris in that dark room?” They both stared into the night sky. Iris came back started the fire. For now they were safe…
